I've always liked this one but it's finicky.

Love, love, love the color!
What is the cross?
Yay besseae hybrids! What was "finicky" about it?

Ooo, I like that. It's nice and chubby. Great color too.
It's really bad about getting black leaf tips. You know, where it sends up a new growth and at about two or three inches tall, the leaves decide to start turning brown. I love phrags but that drives me crazy! They've been better since I started watering them more but I still get some with bad behavior.

Try adding some extra calcium. Black leaf tips in Phrags can mean calcium deficiency. I used to have that trouble too, until I started using a fertilizer with calcium (Phostrogen) and then the problem stopped. Now, I use water from a nearby stream (in the summer) and it has some calcium; so, no need to add it in the fertilizer. However, during the cold months I use R.O. water; so, I add a little calcium nitrate to my fertilizer solution to keep the Phrags happy and leaftip-dieback-free.
