Paph. sangii or Paph. sangii var. ayubianum culture

I have them all over the greenhouse, and they have really hit their stride with lots of buds this year. They are mixed with other paphs, lows at 50 F and highs to about 100, 80-90% shade, normal mix for the pot size (kiwi #2, 3:1 with #3 perlite), consistently watered with no rest. I find they...

Not an alba but I still like it

Maurice J. Cote is venustum x Stone Lovely, while Meon x Oriental Enchantment is pure green alba with a fairly high percentage of sukhakulii. Venustum alba doesn't line up with callosum / lawrenceanum type albas. None of these were very albinistic. That said, with that shot of standard complex...

    interesting delenatii

I have some of these for sale. PM! Mike's are from me. Ross and I found them in normal seed population of delenatii at Hausermanns. They bloom totally normal.

Catasandra hybrid (Gal. greenwoodiana 'SVO Purple Lip' x Ctsm. denticulatum 'Orange Lip')

It's fine - you're certainly entitled to your opinion about it. I would say it's pretty close to what I expected, but the red lip is a surprise. The one I kept looks similar in terms of color but has fuller flowers and better count. I think the next step would be back to a Catasetum, probably...

Catasandra hybrid (Gal. greenwoodiana 'SVO Purple Lip' x Ctsm. denticulatum 'Orange Lip')

Wow it's been a long time since I wrote a post, but since this is my cross, I thought I'd chime in about the goals of breeding with Galeandra greenwoodiana. I made this cross in 2022, so the first impressive part of this cross is that it is already blooming, with lots of flowers. My...

    New Mexipedium Seedling Source

Pretty excited about these... https://paphparadise.com/product/mexipedium-xerophyticum-2/ I wonder why people don't have seedlings for sale very often?

Paph. Magic Mood 'Waikanae x Joan Thomas 'Gosford'

Sorry, your flower is mislabeled. Both parents come from Peter Black; both parents are rather nice yellows, and there are no spotted or red flowers in the background of either. Perhaps you could ask the vendor if there was a mix-up in the nursery?

    Paphiopedilum Great Expectation "Snow Moon"

    wow that's lovely

    selfing awarded hybrid

Interesting you should choose Winston Churchill as an example. There are a number of significant clones of Winston Churchill resulting from sibbing 'Redoubtable' and 'Indomitable'. These, termed F2, include clones like 'Atlas', 'Commonwealth', 'British Enterprise', 'Eminence', and 'Wyndmoor'...

    Paph. F.C. Puddle

I might add that these anecdotes appear (or will) in the Orchid Digest; Part II of The History of Extant Complex Paphiopedilums has been submitted and will hopefully appear soon...Puddle and Aberconway will in part III...
