    Ghost pepper plants

Hello Marco, I’ve grown a few peppers in pots at work in Landenberg pa which is very near Longwood gardens. They love standard potting soil amended with whichever goodies you like to add, in black pots in full sun. If you don’t give them tons of fertilizer and start and keep them in smaller pots...

Phrag. Xerophyticum 'April Fool' x self

Al of Al’s orchid exchange formerly of leesburg va had a colony growing on a very big slab of tree fern. I have an experiment I’m trying but so far it doesn’t want to go from the gap between pieces of fern onto fern itself. Maybe if I kept moister somehow (or I have the wrong type of fern…)

Main Street Orchids and Deep Cut Orchid Show

I would really need help with my fertilizer mix!

About calcium and water solubility etc as previously… in glacial historical settings the ground water moves through crushed glacial till, which definitely releases into the groundwater and affects the soil it’s in, and where the streams come out. Now that’s not anything like solid limestone non...

I would really need help with my fertilizer mix!

Just to add a slightly different perspective and observation about underlying soil strata and orchids/plants, in New England and other areas, (I’m most familiar with New York State ) often many native orchids including slippers will grow in calcareous regions. Some of the zones are very wet, and...

I would really need help with my fertilizer mix!

When we used citric acid to gently lower the pH in stock solution at the first annual/perennial nursery I worked at, that fertilizer line got lined with icky crud that would break free and clog the mist heads :b
