    Orchid Wiz is Back!

I'm all for small businesses making money, but wouldn't selling it for less than you'd really like be better than just shutting it down and getting nothing?

    Orchid Wiz is Back!

Personally, I wish the AOS would buy it and unify it with their stuff.

    Orchid Wiz is Back!

Terry. I cannot answer that, but the old deal was a $99 annual upgrade, which usually included 1 or 2 updates.

    Orchid Wiz is Back!

Version 20.0 is now available. It is a complete reinstallation with updated data, not an update to 9.0 $250.

    Zygopetalum bloom after 2 years!

I got rid of them before moving, but grew a number of zygos and their intergeneric crosses in semi-hydro culture, alongside my paphs up in PA.

Fungus gnats can’t get rid off them

Yes, that and v. Kurstaki appear to be effective.

    Biofungicides/ Growth Promoters

Each beneficial microbe has its own byproducts and it is those that affect the plant and the rhizosphere. The more species used, the broader the spectrum of protection. Not only do some live on roots and leaves, they can live within them and the potting media, as well. Back in 2013, I was...

Fungus gnats can’t get rid off them

If using the BT treatment, I have found no need to also use an insecticide. With no larvae maturing into adults that can lay eggs, the population quickly dies out. The complete life cycle is only about 2-4 weeks.

    Separate or leave be?

Nice looking compot. I’d definitely be separating those, probably individuals for the larger ones and smaller compots for the smaller seedlings.

Fungus gnats can’t get rid off them

Unfortunately, most insecticides do not affect eggs or larvae in the least. That's why multiple, weekly treatments are recommended, so that the adults - including the newly matured ones - can be killed before they have a chance to reproduce.

    Nepenthes culture?

I’m sure it would be fine, as it’s done well for me in soppy sphagnum.

    Tate Olsen

Indeed. Looks a bit like Sorcerer’s Apprentice’s taller uncle. (Hah! Looked it up, it’s SA x Grande, so that was a good guess.) It’s Tate Olson, by the way, not with an “e”.

Fungus gnats can’t get rid off them

You need a product that contains the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis. Many people buy “Mosquito Dunks” or “Bits”, which contain dormant bacteria, and place them in a jug of water. After a few days, there will be enough of a population to allow you to water with the dispersion. Then refill...

    Is that a rot

It may have been planted a bit too deeply, so will likely lose that leaf, but don't despair, it otherwise looks OK. Whatever medium you use, is should stay constantly moist (not soppy) and airy.

How did the orchid bug bite you?

Thinking back, I’m surprised I didn’t get the bug sooner. As a kid, I lived in Linwood NJ, a few blocks from Waldor Orchids. I knew there were greenhouses, but…. We moved to England from there, and my school bus passed Black & Flory every day to and from school. I recall lots of color. We...

Looking for help with a BC. Makai

I think it needs more water. Taking into account actual usage and transpiration losses, a plant uses roughly 18000 times more water than it does fertilizer to grow.

    Team soup container?

Lately I’ve been buying white 1-quart and 1-gallon plastic buckets from ULINE. Very heavy duty and doing quite well outdoors in UV exposure.
