    Three August catts

Thanks guys, it is a nice clone. It was bought as ‘summit’ but I’m not sure that it is. It’s one plant that looks so much better outside under the sun.

Tom, it’s the same thing. Just a different way of writing it!

    Three August catts

First up is an out of season percivalliana. It pushed up a couple of blooms as soon as the bulb matured. Another victim of the grow room. Next up is lueddemanniana ‘cerro verde’. This is flowering for the second time this season on the second growth. It’s doing this for both growths. It’s...

Nice! Plus it was correctly labelled!

    Cattleya lueddemanniana coerulea venosa

It did. I cannot confirm yet it really is that clone but it’s close.

Phrag Lovely Lynne 4n x sib blooming thread

Plus that second sheath has a large bud so it will branch as well. Good news.

Wanted Where are the Yelva Mhyre crosses 👀

I’ve not seen any for sale yet anywhere. They could be great!

Phrag Lovely Lynne 4n x sib blooming thread

So round two start soon. Eight clones now in bud. This is the most advanced and the first one that bloomed last year. It’s a nice meaty growth and bud, much more mature looking than last years. The plants clearly like their new aquatic pots.

    Cattley purpurata werhauseri

David, there is a window in the grow room so the plants get a bit of natural light but by far the most light is from three LED lights. It may well be that the plants are just adjusting to their new conditions or I may need to tweak things as Terry says. Time will tell. Love the coerulea hybrid...

    Lily ID help

It looks like an oriental hybrid. You probably won’t get a closer name. Is it strongly scented?

    Cattley purpurata werhauseri

Thanks Terry, I’ll reduce watering this winter and see what happens. It’s odd that they flowered well on the windowsill when I watered them the same as everything else.

    Cattley purpurata werhauseri

Very interesting information Terry. I will definitely tweak the winter conditions and give the plants more of a dip in light and temperature this year. Quite how far to go I’m not sure but I’ll have a play. The only other problem species is warscewiczii. I have two big plants of this species...

    Cattley purpurata werhauseri

The five purpurata clones that I grow have reacted in the same way to their new grow room. In their second season and their first full year of growth in the room, they’ve done very well with nice big leads and sheaths. Two of them produced a second growth after the first matured in late winter...
