    Paph Temptation 'LF Ron'

It is lovely and large! Straight kolopakingii doesn't do a lot for me but I like it's contributions to hybrids. They are just too large for my space at the moment. I do appreciate the awe factor of such a large plant.

How did the orchid bug bite you?

A present from my now husband. It was a purple miniature phal. There was a growing dark spot on one of its leaves. Despite my efforts, it died. That sent me on a mission to understand why. The following year we went to Cleveland Botanical Gardens Orchid exhibition and the Greater Akron Orchid...

Waiting for the flower is exciting. In the meantime, I am enthralled by those leaves.

    Paphiopedilum micranthum budding

@Nelson Wong thank you for sharing your well documented experiences. I have always said that I would keep those kind of notes. However, my commitment that approach comes and goes. Nicely done!

    Paphiopedilum micranthum budding

Thanks for checking in. These are hanging in there but moving extremely slowly. These are going to be a longer than 4-5 month venture. The first one has me a bit concerned. The bud color is changing, which I don't love. But the other one seems fine enough

    Paphiopedilum Norito Hasegawa

@mrhappyrotter I have one clone I am willing to call fragrant. The others, this one included, have a slight scent when the sun shines at the right angle and your nose is in the flower.

    Paphiopedilum Norito Hasegawa

I am not sure who is behind this set of Norito Hasegawa. I bought them as a compot years ago. Some folks on the forum have sibs. NH grow well for me at this moment in time. So, divisions are always possible.

    Paphiopedilum Norito Hasegawa

@Tom-DE When I can, I look for compots and flasks using the logic you outlined. It works sometimes. Sometimes the size of the plants out pace my growing space, and I have to share before seeing them bloom. At least if I sell them here there is a decent chance I can see them bloom out.

    Paphiopedilum Norito Hasegawa

The season is upon us. The first clone to bloom is up. Paphiopedilum Norito Hasegawa is malipoense x armeniacum. I love the clear, crisp yellow green of this clone.

    Paphiopedilum charlesworthii forma sandowiae

The forms are close to the same size. My type clones have slightly wider leaves, but it is nothing significant.

    Propetalum La Jolla Delight

This petite Zygo relative is blooming for the second time this year. My Propetalum La Jolla Delight did not come with a clonal name. However there is heavy spectulation that all of these are clones from Hilo Orchid Farm. I tend to agree, as there is very little variation between the clones I...

    Paphiopedilum charlesworthii forma sandowiae

I just lovely how free flowering this form of charlesworthii is. This particular clone has one flower open and three bud developing. I am sharing a photo now because I might forget later ;). These pack a punch regarding vigor and flower count. All of my forma sandowiae are from Hillsview...
