    Paphiopedilum micranthum budding

Absolutely amazing! Keep at it. My biggest fuss with paph is that their bud takes sooooo sooooo long to grow. Their flower sheath and bud takes close to 3 to 5 months to fully form. That is a lot of time for mistakes/ factors to cause bud blasting

How did the orchid bug bite you?

Yea. My mom says having all my orchids must give me stress. I always tell her not really. It just becomes a habit and habit where the flowers reward you. The only hassle is repotting.

How did the orchid bug bite you?

When I used to live in Hong Kong we have a decent sized yard 1000sq foot and a rock pond. HK is pretty warm and humid being pretty close to the equator and very suitable for orchids. My dad had an outdoor tent with around several hundred orchids in it, all different types. Then he would hang...

    Lazy Update

The Chinese tall take-out plastic soup containers are the best for multi-floral, in my opinion, because multifloral tend to have longer and deeper roots. Once it is more root bound it makes it easier to repot to another taller pot. For the holes, I just use a drill. 5 to 9 holes in the...

Could you help me identifying the paphs?

Depending on your living conditions if you live in. An apt the cheapest and simplest way to raise humidity is to take showers and not close the door. My humidity level usually increase to around 70% near the plants and windows Another option is to just leave lots of glasses of water near...

    Hab Season Begins! Pectabenaria Ptarmigan

Mine is 1 Habenaria Medusa, 1 habenaria dentata and habenaria jiaho. When I say keep some water, I mean like just around 0.5cm of water at the bottom. Would they be okay. Because they substrate I used are a bit more airy and doesn't retain as much water as your substrate mix

    Hab Season Begins! Pectabenaria Ptarmigan

Thank you. I live in Indiana and let the plant stay outside. It gets decent morning from the east and then not much light in the afternoon. Is it okay to leave some water at the bottom of the pot? How much water should they receive? Approximately same amount as paph and phrag? Or even more?

    Hab Season Begins! Pectabenaria Ptarmigan

I have 3 habenaria at home but they are growing so slow. What are your culture secrets for growing them? What media mix do you use? How much light? Temperature and fertilizer?
