Do NOT keep that plant wet. Multiflorals need good drainage and do not like wet feet. Repot the plant, trim off any dead roots and treat it like your other multiflorals. This plant looks like the roots might be dying. Dave

First one to bloom this season. This is a cross of (After James x King Charles). Paph After James is a huge Maudiae hybrid from the Orchid Zone. King Charles is 75% charlesworthii and 25% Hellas. I'm very happy with the outcome of this cross.

Once the flower is open it is generally ready. Make sure the texture is 'gooey', then you are good to go. Dave

I know someone in Thailand with flasks, but they are still not legal as there is no CITES from Laos. Until that happens all of them are off limits in the USA. Dave

None have been exported legally from Laos. People have raised them and shipped flasks with CITES from Thailand, but that is not the country of origin of that species. The CITES from Thailand is worthless without a paper trail back to CITES issued in LAOS. Don't buy smuggled plants. It's not...

Indeed not limited to this species. We bloomed a rothschildianum from overseas that is clearly a hybrid. Also lowii album that is a Toni Semple hybrid. We refuse to use this material for breeding. Dave

Pacific Rainbow has been a difficult parent, as we tried about a dozen crosses before this one took. Most of the failed crosses were with white complex so that may have been part of the problem. I am trying it on Doll's Kobold today. Time will tell! Dave

Good question! I just looked closely at photos of Paph liemianum and this plant and the staminodes look very similar. I will have to examine them more closely at the nursery tomorrow. I guess I better not take this hybrid back to liemianum or we would never be able to tell we have a hybrid. Dave
