    Paph.rothschildianum 'Mont Millais' flask

I agree that the way to go is MM x something new. Since we sell TON plants here I had the opportunity to buy the MM x self flasks but I passed. I felt there would be more demand for the MM outcrosses, and I'm really not a huge fan of selfings. Especially in something as slow as a roth...

    Mexipedium xerophyticum

Cute little plant! We have the 'Moonlight and Star' clone and the best thing about it is the shorter stolons compared to most other clones. Looks like the selfing enhanced that trait. I tried leaving the agar on like in this post with limited success. The agar can get too dry along the way in the compot and essentially suffocate the roots. Anyone who has gotten agar on a countertop or other surface and let it dry knows that you practically need a chisel to get rid of it. Now...

    CURRENT BREEDING TRENDS WORLDWIDE

It was awarded with 5 flowers and 2 buds. I didn't take any more photos at that point as I had ruthlessly ripped pouches off. The award description is here: http://csnjc.org/May2017/paphrothschildianum.html

    CURRENT BREEDING TRENDS WORLDWIDE

I can only claim to be a novice roth breeder since mine are still years from blooming, but here's my take. The plants themselves have indeed gotten much larger, especially Orchid Zone breeding. Terry liked big flowers. Flowers are in essence modified leaves so bigger flowers came along with...
