    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

Thanks for that Rudolf. Based on the flower and leaf measurements, both of my clones would be var. christensonianum, The measurements are bang on. I don't really understand the pointed leaf characteristic.

    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

The left flower is the other clone (Geyserland).

    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

So depending on who you believe, my plant is either Paph christensonianum or Paph gratrixianum var christensonianum?

    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

I have 4 other NFS seedlings which won't flower this season. I might do a sib cross in future.

    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

Thanks Rudolf. I do like this clone. The predominately white dorsal with large spots is especially striking.

    Paph charlesworthii

A great species. I like the size of the second one and the colour of the third.

    Paph gratrixianum (I think)

I received a few seedlings from a flask. All I was told was that they were from a Vietnamese species. Now that I have flowered it, it looks like gratrixianum to me. Does anyone disagree? The last photo has my gratrixianum 'Geyserland' clone as a comparison.

    Orchids 2024

WOW Justin. Just WOW. Not just flowering one of the legendary roths, but flowering it with 3 spikes. Must be one of the highlights of your hobby. Incredible growing.

    Paph rothschildianum first bloom

That is seriously nice. Fantastic colour. Looks a compact plant too.

    Paphiopedilum Bel Royal

That is a magnificent Bel Royal. Great shape and the petals look very wide. And the sepals don't furl like a lot of clones. Certainly, worth the wait and the space. Did you knock the top flower off?

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum with true pedigree, second flowering

In Australia we say 'Monday's expert'. Wedding's, Parties, Anything even wrote a song about it.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum with true pedigree, second flowering

The colour in 'Black Vision' is astonishing. The 'Awesome' clone ain't bad either.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum with true pedigree, second flowering

Well Sam did send me a photo of King Kong. Assuming it was legitimate, it looked pretty good. Seven large very dark flowers on a first flowering seedling.

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum with true pedigree, second flowering

I have a flask of King Kong x Humongous that are growing well. Kiwi said that Sam had told him he had very high hopes for this cross. I would have thought this roth cross was legitimate as both parents are from his own breeding. If it was true that Sam was a bit of a fraudster, it wouldn't make...

Paphiopedilum rothschildianum with true pedigree, second flowering

This was an OI seedling of mine that got an AM award. Possibly has the potential to be upgraded in future. https://www.slippertalk.com/threads/paphiopedilum-rothschildianum-anisha-am-aoc.52235/

Paph rothschildianum x sib ('Knight Sunshine' SM/JOGA x 'Tarantula' GM/JGP)

I don't bid myself. It is too difficult and expensive to import live plants into Australia. I sometimes just look at that website out of interest.

Sold as Paphiopedilum kolopakingii, could it be paphiopedilum temptation instead ?

Looks like Temptation to me too. Kolopakingii has much wider leaves.
