Every one of those clones is exceptional. I assume it is not a random sample of the cross. They are all award quality, based on the photos, some maybe even FCC.

It is Isobel. It was mistakenly registered as Isabel but the spelling of the person it was named after was Isobel. So it has been corrected. It doesn't look like Lady Isobel to me though. All I am seeing is stonei.

That has convinced me. Give me the hybrid version any day. :)

I would have thought you would get increased vigour more quickly going down this hybrid route. I would be interested to know how vigorous this plant is in relation to a straight sanderianum.

Here is the second spike which had three flowers. In fact, it had a fourth flower that developed right in the crown of the growth but it was grossly deformed. The first spike has now completed.

I have heard the same thing. My seedling does come from Shen Liu, who as Xavier has said, is one of the most reputable of the Taiwanese nurseries. So I am still hopeful. :)

I have a seedling of Dou Fong x Z2135. I believe z2135 is a Rex x MM plant. It has 2 gigantic growths which I keep thinking will flower each year, but they just keep growing. Maybe next season as I always say.

It is not what I was expecting from that cross.
