    Paph rothschildianum

The petal span is 23 cm. So, nothing special.

Paph rothschildianum x sib ('Knight Sunshine' SM/JOGA x 'Tarantula' GM/JGP)

I get a lot of them from a Japanese auction site. The Tokyo Orchid Nursery sells a lot of their seedling and flowering roths on this site accompanied with lots of photos. It is always interesting to look at this site when the roths are flowering in Japan to see how the various roth crosses are...

Paph rothschildianum x sib ('Knight Sunshine' SM/JOGA x 'Tarantula' GM/JGP)

For your interest, here is a photo of 'Knight Sunshine' Here are some more photos of Tarantula seedlings. The first 3 are Black Diamond x Tarantula. I have a FS seedling of this cross that should flower next season. If they look like this, I will be happy. The fourth one is Black Star x...

Paph rothschildianum x sib ('Knight Sunshine' SM/JOGA x 'Tarantula' GM/JGP)

Very exciting. I look forward to seeing how this one turns out. I have seen a few tarantula seedlings. A bit of a mixed bag - some really good, others average. This one was pretty nice - Nikko Shogun' x 'Tarantula'. Not huge but the colour is outstanding...

    Paph rothschildianum

Probably my best growing roth but one of my poorer flowers. Flowers are small and the colour and shape are nothing special. But even still, it looks pretty nice this year. Paph rothschildianum (Western Springs x Janet FCC/AOC)

    Paphiopedilum William Ambler 'Carob' HCC/AOC

That sounds an interesting cross Rick. I can't wait to see it. Good luck.

    Paphiopedilum William Ambler 'Carob' HCC/AOC

I find that happens with this clone. Some years are better than others. I often only get 3 flowers, so happy to get 4 this time.

    Paphiopedilum William Ambler 'Carob' HCC/AOC

I have flowered this a few times now, but probably not as good as this.

    Coelogyne Green Elf

Amazing display for such a small plant.
  10. emydura

    Paphiopedilum Toni Semple

    Great colour.

    Paph Lady Isobel

It is great to see my avatar has finally flowered again after many years. The plant went backwards and it has taken a while to re-establish it. It is a wonderful clone, although nowhere near its best in this flowering.

    PEOY

Both are very nice. The first one doesn't look like a PEOY though.

    Sanderianum?

Good point about the flower count. It is very sanderianum dominant, so much more likely to be something like MK X sanderianum. I don't think it could be MK itself.
  14. emydura

    Sanderianum?

    I agree.

Paph. sanderianum x sib ('Dr. John Doherty' AM/AOS x 'Sam Tsui' AM/AOS)

Congratulations in flowering this incredible species. I'd be happy with that. The petal length will come later. The rest is great.

Welcome back Lance. An administrator can do it for you. I once had to do the same for one of my old posts.

    Paphiopedilum glanduliferum at Show

My William Ambler is open at the moment and it looks a lot like that, including the staminode. The sepals look bigger though. I think overall this is a pretty good plant. Nice tall spike, flowers are of good colour and look to be good size (assuming it is a William Ambler). The flowers are...

    Paphiopedilum glanduliferum at Show

I agree with Tony. Identification aside, the flowers are all over the place and the dorsal shape is poor.
  19. emydura

    Paphiopedilum haynaldianum

Both are wonderful. I would be happy with either. They are certainly better than my clone which is currently open.
  20. emydura

    Paph praestans

In flower again. There is another spike coming, although it is way behind.
