    On aging

Thank you Tom for the recommendations. I think I have a volunteer who lives reasonably close who will take them and he may do whatever he wishes with them. Possibly distribute them on ST. That will make me very happy! Who on ST isn't happy with a free orchid????

Any good recent treatments of the Genus Cypripedium?

Tom, there's hybrid swarm everywhere...Catts, Phrags, Paphs and Cyps, of course. Everybody and an old uncle seems to think hybridizing is a fun hobby. Adds to the confusion.

    manzurii

Well, well, it will be interesting to see my free gift Manzurii next to my schlimii when both bloom. I assume they will bloom at approximately the same time.

    On aging

Thank you Tyrone! The orchid meetings I attended some years ago were in Lexington, KY. I dropped an email to the website and haven't gotten a response. There were never very many members and I suspect COVID may have done it in. Tom-DE My lime tree is a Bearss or Persian lime. It grows in...

    On aging

I've been trying to communicate with the only orchid society that's 150 miles from me and can get no response. Any suggestions?

Just received some gorgeous Phrags. from

Dave prices depend on the size of the plant and that varies. My advice is to look over his website, decide what you want and call him. His phone number is on his website. I just looked at his website and he has many kov. crosses.

    On aging

That situation occurs to me often. I've considered several options and none of them seem likely to take the whole collection so far. I have approximately 135 plants and one large lime tree. It seems that nobody really wants them as a group.

    Building a basement growing room

Dave, industrial growers need larger lights for larger spaces. I'm not advising you to use the lights you find more acceptable. I am offering a cheaper, easier way to do it yourself since you wrote that you like to do projects yourself. I test the bulbs regularly and they're holding up well...

    Building a basement growing room

Dave, All you need: outlets of the normal sort, LED full spectrum bulbs, regular coated wiring to reach outlet and simple sockets for each bulb. Cut the 1x4s the length to be determined by your space. I use eight for a 6' bench. Drill holes in the 1 x 4 to fit the base of the bulbs, the...

Very, very nice Pete. Even the dorsals are more or less behaving. Excellent for a first bloom.

    Building a basement growing room

Dave Va, have you considered your light set up so far? I built a very cheap LED light set up for three benches in my greenhouse that costs me less than $75.00 and has been doing very well for three or four years. All it takes a a bit of 1" x 4" lumber, some wiring and sockets...perhaps a...

Rob, I have the sister longifolium album 'Super Charlie' that might give your plant a comeuppance! ;>)

Paph Dr. Toot - finally found this plant

I thought the motorcycle-riding, bulldog kissing guy made Dr. Toot. Can't remember his name, but his business was Orchid Zone long ago.

The story of a large Paph, aka THE EAGLE HAS OPENED

Hey Brucher, I'm very impressed even though I'm not a paphperson. If all species Paphs. looked like that, I'd love them. I think it's magnificent.
