    Phrag. Rachel Kirk 'Sunshine'

I'm gobsmacked that your Phrag. has that many flowers open at one time! Great growing and such an eye catching shade of Chinese red.

    Sorcerer’s Apprentice

SA is a sprawler and new growth is coming along well. I'm over-anxious and mine is 'Fantasia' from HC as well. I don't mind the sprawling. It's a pretty plant anyways. I want to know what the damn flower looks like!!!

Maxillaria phoenicanthera ‘Sue Davis’ CCM/AOS 88 pts

What a fantastic specimen plant! I've seen some large ones at shows, but the flower count is amazing on this one.

    East Asian Cymbidium Potting Mix

Having grown and bloomed Chinese Cyms. ensifolium and sinense in Cym pots in my regular mix of perlite, large Orchiata and charcoal, I agree with Ray that the absolutism of potting medium is relative to the conditions in which they're grown.

Paphiopedilum philippinense var roebelenii 'Coco' AM/AOC

Gorgeous Paph. and I don't even grow Paphs. I do grow a Cav. King Charles tri-color. Coco is such a sweetie. They really "get you" with those soft spaniel eyes. Sally, my Cav., is excessively spoiled and so loving and sweet.

    Wanted Phrag. Rouge Bouillon

Yes indeed it is too cold. Do you have the particular cross mentioned above Rob? I've seen other "examples" of Rouge that weren't this particular cross.

    Sorcerer’s Apprentice

I have a SA that I rescued some time ago and it's been with me in recovery for two years. New growth is coming along, but quite slowly. Any advice is appreciated for this Phrag.

    Wanted Phrag. Rouge Bouillon

Any Phrag. growers know where I might find a two growth Rouge? The sad one I have is starting to revive, but I'd like to have the (Men **** Clements 'Rocket Flash' 4M x dalessandroi) and I can't remember where I bought it. The tag is lost unfortunately.

    Paph Magic Lantern album

I love white flowers and this one is so elegant. Congratulations. The leaves are attractive as well.

Cattleya dowiana var aurea ‘Golden Dragon’s Blood’

That lip more than compensates for the slightly wonky dorsal. Do you suppose it might fill out a bit more?

Cattleya percivaliana fm. coerulea ‘SRV’ AM/AOS

Lovely Catt. and an outstanding dorsal.

    Phragmipedium Acker's Classic

I hope the dorsal plumps out a bit more for you. The flower is lovely.

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

Can you calculate how much this set up costs a month for power? I like the set up, however, I can see you're expanding all over the place. Orchids do that.

    A Few In Bloom

What a wonderful December you're having!!! Love them all; so cheery.

I'm glad for Sam and sad for the rest of us. Does he have someone to take over the business?

    Phrag. Achental album 'Fall River'

The Achental finally got its act together on the second bloom. However, last blooming was all white. This blooming has some pink in the dorsal and petals and the shape is a bit wonky. I hope to see improvement on the next flower. I'd almost trade you for some DB if you have any...not. :>)...

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

Are you handy with tools? I have a very cheap method of building a light set up, but it requires some do it yourself stuff. I have three light set ups in my greenhouse to use in the winter. If I remember correctly, the lumber, wire and sockets and grow lights (from Amazon) cost less than $100.00

    Phragmipedium besseae

Love the fenestrations in that pouch. Very RED petals too.
