Cattleya Fabia (1894) or Cattleya Eva’s Fábula en Tus Ojos? The difference of an aurea.

Something weird along these lines also happened with Triumphans. Last year, RHS specified that Cattleya Triumphans is (C. aurea × C. rex) A breeder must've caught wind of this fairly quickly because in July 2023, the cross of C. dowiana × C. rex was registered as Cattleya NK Amanecer de Tokio (a...

    Cycnoches cooperi

Not sure but i would guess so! Attention from bugs could very well have popped their pollen and caused them to wilt.

Right, in a few months these plants will be bald again. I have found that a solution of neem and soap works ok, but it will deform the flowers. The buds seem to break early, and the petals come out smaller and twisted. So, since the flowers are what I'm trying to save, I'm hoping the predators...

    Cycnoches cooperi

22 flowers, just amazing. Unfortunately the plant has mites, I'm trying to combat with predatory mites and wiping the leaves with alcohol solution for now. When the blooms are gone, I'll try neem, insecticidal soap, hydrogen peroxide, more predators...

Fungus gnats can’t get rid off them

I got into Pinguicula as well after many recommendations (and some friends sending me some!). They are fun to watch but there will always be gnat survivors. The bacteria, nematode, and chemical routes are the only ways to completely eradicate them. Of course, every time you get a new plant, you...

    Three August catts

Of these three the percivalliana is my favorite. The way the bottom two sepals curve downward, the nice dorsal, the wide petals, and the super ruffled, dark lip...love it.

    Paphiopedilum Memoria Larry Heuer

it's very nice and too bad about the stem. I wonder if a daily, gentle nudging as it develops would force the plant to thicken the stem in response? I love how you fuss over it, this is what orchid growing is all about :)

    First multifloral paph!

Dustin from Here...But Not grows in Calgary, Canada, in very similar conditions to yours in Montana I would guess. He has wonderful success with Paphs and I recommend reading his growing guide if you haven't. Your phil looks like it's really happy in the new pot...
