I see this all the time I don't really understand it. Petals white, overlaid burgundy for example. For that matter, what does 'suffused' and 'base color' mean as well.

I have also found that net pot in a regular pot works really well. I might slowly convert everything in that direction with each repot.

If I were you, I would try everything that was available that I could afford. Seems like pretty ideal Cattleya conditions to me. Rex and Dowiana were the first to come to mind (as usual).
