Gorgeous, Tom! Excellence never gets old.

    Cattleya violacea semialba flamea ‘OmG’

Well done. I find C. violacea particularly difficult.

So exiting! I am getting my heated greenhouse, I have just dug the trenches, I hope it is going to be worth the effort.

Exciting! What size? What is your natural temperature range and what is your “plan”?

    Phrag Demetria

Demetria has a long-petalled parent (caudatum). For me, those a bit harder to bloom. They like a bit more light than some other phrags. Good luck!

    Three Phrags

Bravo! I always enjoy blooming richteri, in particular, with its perfect tight little spirals.

Cattleya forbesii " Hotzheit x Goldlip"

I concur. That’s a lovely forbesii! (I have one, but it is of the more drab persuasion.)

    Phragmipedium lindenii

Well done! I have found these to be challenging. Mine are limping along, no flowers yet. Sigh.

    …And how’s your week been?

I am sorry for your loss. I know how much I love my son, even though he has his issues, and I cannot imagine how hard it would be to walk in your shoes.

    Arthur A. Chadwick’s passing

Very sad news. A life well lived and a passion beautifully shared with so many. I feel grateful, as well as sad, hoping his family can take some comfort in the many blessings he left behind.

Dude, Epic rant. Kill them. Kill them all. Nuff said. Get on with it.

    Distorted blossom

My opinion? Phrags are notoriously subject to such transient anomalies. What do I do? Personally (not advice, per se), I would pluck the bud. If the next bud is not better, I would cut the spike (I probably should do this first, but can’t resist). Then, I would repot and try again. I have...

    Help with thrips (I think)

Hi Angela, I have used Orthene on thrips, with pretty good results. Like anything else, you have to spray again in a week (more or less) to break the life cycle. I hate thrips. They ruin my flowers. Best of luck, Kate

Oh ya baby! I love that pouch. I have teeny, tiny ones coming up but, based on your experience, gonna be awhile. Cheers!

    First Roth flask

Your baby Roths look good, but if you want “explosive growth”, you might try phrags.🤣
