    Blooming a bit earlier this year . . .

    Phrag. Robert-Jan Quene´

First to bloom from a Peruflora flask. I was hoping for one of those amazing giant-besseae ones, but not this time . . .

    3 Ascocentrum

Except they have now all been reclassified as Vandas, of course. Sigh.

More Phrag. besseae babies (and a couple of their phrag friends)

Thanks Angela. Lilith really is a little darling, fuzzy, round and pink. The phrags really seem to like the challenge!

    Paph. armeniacum

Hi Rick, Thanks! I’m pretty sure it’s just old NZ sphagnum moss with moss growing on it in a 4 inch clay pot. I might have tossed a white river rock in the middle. Like many of my plants, it was due for repotting - but then I noticed it was spiking. I have 2 other armeniacum that I moved to a...

    Paph. armeniacum

We’ve had a cool spring (for Hawaii), particularly our overnight temps. I would say low 60s F. That is combined with humidity running 60-70% and higher. We have also had decent trade winds, but this particular Paph is pretty sheltered from rain and high winds. It’s just starting to warm up a bit.

Phragmipedium Yelva Mihre ( Rosalie Dixler × Phragmipedium kovachii )

Awesome. I’m like Angela - mine are still young, but maybe soon . . .

    Phrag caricinum

That is a wickedly cool-looking pouch! I am (slowly) growing up a batch of flasklings from WSO. Hope they are the real deal!!

    Ho Chi Minh

Gorgeous! (I would add that, if that is Bill’s original tag, there might be a penciled number on the top of the back. If yes, it is possible that he has a record of the parents.)

More Phrag. besseae babies (and a couple of their phrag friends)

Bosom buddies. First blooms. Another first-bloom flavum. Standard type. Phrag. Anthony Omeis. Phrag. Kelly Forks. Just opening, but a sweet yellow. Phrag. Lilith. Perky little puffs of pink. Phrag. Manzur la Aldea (flavum form). These are what I give my orchid buddies as starter...

    Dr. Braem’s new Paphiopedilum tome

I have only read the Introduction and General Section of Dr. Braem’s new book and thumbed through the Descriptive Section, stopping here and there for a while. However, I agree with Leslie that this is a cherished addition to my orchid library and I will enjoy returning to it again and again.

    Hello from NY!

    Aloha!

    Finally a white phrag

I agree. Phrags can be notoriously unstable. However, as you know, Dr Leslie, AOS judges are suppose to judge what they see on the judging table, not what the plant looked like the day before or what it might look like down the road.

    Phragmipedium Jérèmie Lussier

    Fabulous plants!

    They're coming.... my first flask.

Rich, is that a particular product? When I googled I got a company name, which had been bought out/changed. Do you use it with other flasklings or just tigrinums?

    Greenhouses?

Thanks. I have a family member who might want to look into that.

    Greenhouses?

Just wondering - why would you use PEX tubing, which does not transfer heat well, rather than copper, which does?

    Paphiopedilum hirsutissimum var alba
