Phrag Lovely Lynne 4n x sib blooming thread

Out of curiosity...for the LL, the primary cross is FS x PCA and the sib cross, from what I understand, is LL x LL. What is the advantage of a sib cross over the primary cross?

Plants arrived in the mail and have no tags

Since you're from Canada, it means the suppliers wanted to get by the inspection agency because they probably don't have the necessary permits to export those particular plants: it happens all the time. If you carefully read your purchase confirmation invoice when you ordered and compare it to...

Phragmipedium Lovely Lynne 4n x sib update

I also have about 25 (from Mike Tibbs) that are just a little smaller than yours with some sending up side shoots. Mine are in individual (Orchiata) pots but I plan to repot the larger ones in Grodan cubes. Can you explain the yellow streaking I see in some leaves?

    Growing Cyps since 1957

I grow a couple of them in Levis, just outside of Quebec City, and that with relative success. I did buy a tibeticum and a flavum from Mrs Perner when she was last in Montreal. The following Spring, only the tibeticum flowered, and the following Spring, neither returned. I do grow very well, a...

    Lovely Lynne

It seems to me that if you are bringing in orchids from Canada (max 12 plants), for your personal use, restrictions are very relaxed. Call your local USDA office for info.

    Phragmipedium repot

Do you trust his claim of tetraploidy? I also bought this 4N LL flask and they are now out in 3 inch pots - doing good but you are doing better. Will follow this thread with interest. Thanks.

    Phrag. besseae ‘Carlisle’

It seems to me that 'Carlisle' wasn't the one which got an AM: it was the other bessae - Super'Roe'

Phrag. Living Fire ‘Kernersville’ (3N) has spots!!

I wouldn't worry - they seem old injuries that are resorbed, due, most likely, to the previous owner's cultural practice (likely insect or fungal). The new tissue seems fine.

    Phrags on their travels

I grow mine in Grodan minicubes mixed with large perlite (3/1) and I water very 4 days. Grows like wildfire.
