    Paphiopedilum parishii #1

Very nice. Can you please tell us more about how you are growing it.

    Paphiopedilum philippinense

    It is still pretty.

    Paphiopedilum concolor (??)

That looks great but that dorsal is suspicious. Do you know the parents? This could be the outcome of linebreeding.

    Paph. Hsinying Alien "Elvis"

It isn't the best looking of its kind but it flowers every year and the people who complement it don't know any better. (I had to blur out the background else my wife would have been very upset for you having to see the aftermath of my four kids having rampaged through the living room.) So why...

    Roth watering

I think the growths are a combination of reporting and better fertilizing more than watering. I think...

    Roth watering

I had my roth in bark and it didn't seem happy. I repotted into a mix of perlite and sphagnum in a basket suspended over water in a yoghurt tub and water once or twice a week. Since the transplant it has sent up two side growths and seems happier. It is still a small plant that has suffered...

    Phal. Formosa Blackberry

The solution is that of the bonsai principle of awarding the grower not the plant.

    Should i be disappointed

Wow, pretty and compact. I would definately keep it and probably even try self it to see if there is more potential for small plants with big flowers.

More anticipation: thaianum '#1' x sukhakulii

The terrible luck to be disposable.

More anticipation: thaianum '#1' x sukhakulii

I would like to say I have seen worse but I haven't. That makes rungsuriyanum look pretty... But surely it deserves a second chance? Maybe it too exception to something during development?

More anticipation: thaianum '#1' x sukhakulii

If you don't want it I will take. I would grow it just for the leaves.

    paph Haiphong Baby

Definitely an improvement on the rungsuriyanum parent.

    Should i be disappointed

Is the plant also small? Some of us with limited space might welcome a breeding line of miniature rothschildianums -- though I think we would desire better form and color. Congrats on growing and blooming a roth. It is not small achievement. I wish you many more.

    On aging

Tom, its fine. You havent seen my growing space so you dont know that there is no more space for something new unless something doesn't survive. I couldn't keep anything. I am not upset with Angela and never was when I wrote that -- but I understand my direct writing style does lend itself to...

    On aging

Tom, Angela instructed me to distribute her plants her and in clubs for free or cost of shipping. I would inherit nothing but a duty to honor her wishes. I am glad I dont have to drive 3 hours to pack up a green house, drive 3 hours back, and spend my time packing plants to mail to people. You...

Mealy bugs - missed a treatment

My sympathies. My battle with the bugs continues. I hope I have gained the upper hand. I have been using neem oil, spraying the plants monthly regardless of whether I see anything. I haven't seen any meallies now for a while. I had tried another insecticide which was very effective but the...

    Root rot party

I regularly add H2O2 to my aquaria at a rate of 2 mL/gallon and I will have bubbling from the H2O2 for 2 days, sometimes 3. What remains should continue to generate O2 for a long time.
