What is this and how do i stop it?

Just a friendly note Isopropyl will not kill virus. You have to use a bleach solution to sterilize cutting tools (or a blowtorch).

    Orchids 2024

Here is a first bloom Paph stonei 'TN Queen' x self. There are 3 open flowers, but there is a fourth bud that will open later. I grew this from a 2cm plantlet out of flask18 YEARS AGO. There were many cultural bumps and bruises along the way, but I am happy to finally see it in bloom! Here...

It is gorgeous, and love the photos.

Paphiopedilums that bloom more than 1-2x per year?

The liemianum will be easier to grow and is a sequential bloomer. Paph appletonianum has a much better flower in my eyes, but this species blooms seasonally and may be a little more challenging. Get them both.

Paphiopedilums that bloom more than 1-2x per year?

Species and hybrids from the subgenus Cochlopetalum: glaucophyllum, liemianum, primulinum, moquetteianum, etc. These are all sequential bloomers that can stay in bloom for a year or more.

What to do with old growths?

I know we are talking about old backgrowths, but as a general rule I try to never cut the rhizome of multi Paph species to divide. More often than not one or both pieces will die.

Put some cinnamon on it, increase ventilation, and don't panic.

    80 days of growth

Any LED grow light will do. I have HLG 60 watt LEDs over my mature plants on 2×4 ' shelves. And single 4' 38 watt strips over seedling shelves (these are strong enough to bloom roths). I got the HLG lights from the local hydroponics shop, and the strips from The Orchid Hobbyist on Fb or from Lowes.

    Sometimes they don't work out.

I have a Delrosi that took 16 years to flower, and then has bloomed mangled twice. It gets one more chance then it is audi.

    A few questions.

Forgot to mention, if you want to grow these indoors, a lot of growers will put a heating pad under them.

    A few questions.

I have tried to grow them in normal indoor temperatures (and quite chilly in the winter evenings) -- multiple times. They always died after a year max. It is just how it is with these.
