    Talked to Dave at Paph Paradise and he suggested it might be a cultural thing. I moved the plant to a lower light location and the spike started to grow almost immediately. That was ~May 12th. This is the result: Still have a few more days for it to fully open.

    First thing we look at is the color or form. Size is the last thing we look at. We use a flexible ruler and wrap it around the dorsal.

    You can't imagine how much better it looks in person. I saw this plant at the Sacramento Orchid show. The petals have the most amazing color.
