    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

There are huge examples for top quality parents are producing inferior quality flower for their next generation. Don’t care too much above what the parents are. I just have interest to know which crosses has high potential to produce top quality flower and just buy those crosses.

    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

I can tell you that if I wish to buy top quality multi floral paphs, in particular for roths, I will not approach Mr. Shen now but the breeders in south of Taiwan. Top quality multi floral paphs are mostly owned by south Taiwan breeder, at least until now. Mr. Shen’s paph is very suitable for...

    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

The reason for your observation on using different clone’s name for the same clone in Taiwan is due to when the same clone is divided to different breeder, they will use a specific clone’s name that suit their own need. For example, Mr. Shen always use TN as the beginning for all his clone...

    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

I don’t know whether the measurement method of the DS for AOS has aligned with Taiwanese societies or not. Be reminded that Taiwanese society measures the DS from the left most point of the dorsal to the right most point of the dorsal in STRAIGHT LINE, while AOS measures the same by a curve...

    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

Your comment is valid so that we need to know the parents before buying. Of course, whether the seller will tell you the truth is a question, in particular for some of those Taiwanese sellers expertise on overseas market. Anyway, buying from a reputable seller for a true rothschildianum will...

    Paph. rothschildianum (0288)

Thanks for your inputs. I am not saying that you are wrong, but i will assess the awarding standard by using the recent Taiwanese standard, at least for multiforal paphs and up to this moment.

DS 5 point something, and NS around 30. Current standards for a good size roths flower are DS over 7 and NS over 33.

    Paph. intaniae

You know the what is the marketing doing! Yes, intaniae seedlings are available in Taiwan and seems that BS plants will be available in 2-3 years. High air humidity, medium to low light intensity, night temperature drop is my method to grow them.

    Paph. intaniae

I agree with you. The clone shown in my past post had already gone to haven a year ago due to fungus infection.

Good strip, good petal stance, good dorsal shape, but not meeting the current size standard.

Another round of guess the spike

I have a chance to own and grow all multifloral species discovered right now and am lucky to flower all species except ooii and richardianum, hence, I know what the flower sheath of each species looks like. Hope i bet wrongly this time, but…..
