    Paph. rothschildianum (2010)

It is a preserved clone from one of the breeders of 2010. Bought it 5 years ago and the DS is 6 cm and NS is 31 cm. It is a very nice clone for self entertaining!

    laevigatum or palawanensis

Can any expert tell me which of the variation does this philippinese belongs to? I cannot distinguish a palawanensis since I have never seen one before. Thank you.

Will anyone grow paph in such a strong light?

Thank you and your sharing gives me confident in continuing this experience. Unlike your environment, my growing area is extremely wet all the time but with relatively lower temperature. That means high light, high humidity and warm to hot contribute my growing environment.

Will anyone grow paph in such a strong light?

Yeah, your observation is correct since I have been growing them in relatively low light intensity for the past 2 years. Currently is the summer time here and the temperature can reach 34 Degree C inside the green house though there is water cooling system provided. The side light is blocked...

Will anyone grow paph in such a strong light?

I am going to change the growing strategies for my multiflorals paph this year and use strong lights to grow some of the multi floral paph. For gigantifolium, supardii, sanderianum and their hybrids, low light is still used. I think in particular for Philippinese, roths, kolopakingii and...

You will have high probability on getting a great clone for it. Congratulations.

    Paph. stonei “Prince” x “Queen”

It is the second time blooming for this clone. But I changed the growing media using for 5 years and removed all dead roots this Spring, hence, the quality of this bloom cannot reflect the real performance of it.

    Some sequential blooming paphs

There are glaucophyllum, chamberlanianum (both from the nature and seedling), moquetteanum from the nature (the flower looks different from seedling plants we see in the market), victoria mariae and dodyanum. Enjoy!

    Paph. Mount Toro album

This is not the right time for its blooming. The weather is too hot causing fewer flower count, smaller flower and lighter in color.

    Paph. stonei “Prince” x “Queen”

One of the best sibling cross in the market. This one is not the best but with exotic coloration. Enjoy!

    Old school rothschildianum

All 5 flowers are bloomed, just a picture for sharing.

    Paph. Saint Swithin “莊苑”

I don’t know. It is a famous Taiwan clone and is named by Taiwan people. The are 3 outstanding clones from this series, 莊苑 of course is one of the three, the other one is Spring Swallow (春歸燕)and the last one is called 御品(i cannot translate into English)

    Johanna Burkhardt

A nice one but I bet it is a Wossner Black Wings by recognizing from its dark colored dorsal and reddish petal color.

    Paph. Saint Swithin “莊苑”

Sorry, I have cut the spike after taking this photo.

    Paph. Saint Swithin “莊苑”

It is the first time for me to bloom it with 6 flowers. I do not know how to translate the clone’s name into English but it comes from the same series of the clone ‘Spring Swallow’. Both are still high grade SS in the market. Enjoy!

    Paph. laevigatum “in charm”

I bought this 3 years ago and this division was already divided and grown for sometimes. I will shoot some photos for your reference later. I am not depreciate my growing skills but I am sad that this clone does perform its flowering potential, so that improvements should be made.

    Old school rothschildianum

Mt Kinabalu is also the habitat location for Paph. ooii. Although I understand that the altitude they live is higher than roths, I dont know why the cultural difficulity for ooii is much higher than a roths. Only very few cultivators can do this rare species other than Michael Ooi. Just for...

    Paph. laevigatum “in charm”

Yes. The owner of the plant can grow it with 5 flowers per spike.

    Old school rothschildianum

As far as I know, the biggest DS for Taiwan clone is 8 cm, without flatten it. NS is 35 and petal width is 2.3 cm. Very dark color. That is the size for the plant’s first bloom. Not a mature plant.
