    Paph. myanmaricum first bloom

Beautiful pictures. I'm unaware of that plant but it's definitely going on to the wish list if and when it does become available.

Thank you Rudolf. Pictures don't do it justice. I like it much more than I thought I would.

    Paph. myanmaricum first bloom

I didn't realize it's not available in the US yet. What a shame. This seems to have been the case with a number of other species in the past too. I hope that will change for you soon.

    Paph. myanmaricum first bloom

Hopefully yours will travel as well as mine did. It was packed with a good amount of sphagnum moss around the roots and amazingly none of the roots died during its journey. I tucked it into a small pot nonetheless as I didn't want to overpot and risk root rot. For the first few weeks I gave it a...

    Paph. myanmaricum first bloom

Very happy to see this little cutie make its grand entrance today. I got it more than a week after our spring show this year thanks to a missed connecting flight followed by a lengthy wait at customs (the officers were on strike at the time). Despite the challenges it has grown well for me and I...

Paph. fairrieanum ('Red Wonder' x self) update

It had one flower when it bloomed for the first time but as I recall there was a very small second bud that didn't do much of anything and eventually blasted. Maybe you're right and this one is genetically programmed. It came from Paph Paradise so I'd be curious to know if any of the other...

Paph. fairrieanum ('Red Wonder' x self) update

Apologies for taking so long to post this update. I was away for a few days and then my cat got sick when I got home. All is well now and this fairrieanum has both blooms fully open. It has two new small growths at the base of the plant so we'll see what happens with the next blooming.

    Paph. godfroyae album first bloom

Have had this plant since early 2022 and am happy with its first bloom. The flower has been open for a while so please excuse the brown marks.

Yes, indeed it is. It's fully open now and I will post a picture soon.

    Paph. Michael Koopowitz in bloom!

Small world. I didn't know you were on this forum Neil. The pictures are lovely but the plant is even more beautiful "in person".

    Paph. Michael Koopowitz in bloom!

Awesome! Is this the same plant that was on the monthly show table at the VOS meeting last night?

Vietnamense Village in the Making: Go Fourth!

I love the colour! The pouch reminds me of a rosy red nose on a circus clown........(am I dating myself by saying that?)

Thank you. My plant photographer is gone for the day but I'll ask him to take another picture when he gets back.

    Some pics from my garden.

Thank you for the detailed reply. That's so interesting. I asked because I've visited the Canadian Arctic in the summer (August) and there was a very short period of darkness at that time. I remember the gardens that some people grew were absolutely amazing thanks to the long hours of daylight...

Paph. fairrieanum ('Red Wonder' x self)

In bloom for the second time since I got it in September, 2021. It grows on the lower shelf of my light stand where winters seem to be cool enough. In the summer it enjoys the fresh breeze coming in from an open skylight. It's in Orchiata/perlite and I fertilize with MSU and CalMag twice a week. .
