Paph. platyphyllum 'Super Clone x sib' first bloom

Really quite special. I have one of the super clone selfings just getting up to size after years of setbacks, it has upright leaves like yours.

    You be the judge

Eh, give him time. Maybe he's having a bad day. Lord knows I've done my fair share of grumpy posting on here.

    You be the judge

I vote to let it continue for now. It's heated, but not completely uncivil, and underneath it all there's some good discussion going on.

    You be the judge

It's also worth noting: the other judges could have called the bluff and submitted a bunch of 81s and 82s. 74 isn't what I would call "ridiculously low," because at 74, you can be 6 points below everyone else and the plant could still get an AM. Much as I might hate to admit it to myself, if...

    You be the judge

    You be the judge

I was being silly before, and I admit I like to heckle judges because, well, because it's fun, but here's my honest answer: There are some cliques and some obstinate judges (some of which are no longer judges fyi); award fees cost way more than they should; and I personally think the training...

Wanted Bulbophyllum beccarii or Bulbophyllum echinolabium

Interestingly, I have come across grexes of echinolabium that smelled like freshly cut aromatic cedar. Very pleasant.

Wanted Bulbophyllum beccarii or Bulbophyllum echinolabium

Just be patient & watch the major nurseries & ebay. They'll pop up eventually; these things come in waves. All that said... are you SURE you want these species lol?

    Vietnamense

Is it blooming? Last time we tried this with thaianum, it didn't work very well lol.

Micranthum & Gloria Naugle Bloom Tips?

At least for the micranthum: Over the course of a month, gradually reduce its water down to a trickle of maybe a tablespoon a week (but keep it humid). Put it in the coldest place you have during the day, then toss it in the fridge at night. The door of the fridge works best. It will probably...

    Okay fine, one ***. An HCC isn't a consolation prize... ... ... ... ... ... It's a participation trophy. * Takes off running *

    Paph sukhakulii x sugiyamanum
