    RHS Chelsea Show, 1912

I am in the process of putting together a presentation on antique complexes for the Paph Guild Meeting in Santa Barbara in January and ran across this image while researching Sir George Holford and his grower H.G. Alexander. Their contributions to orchids are legion, including, among many...

    Hakone´s Index

an arguably more interesting is what to call plants that are not 100% albinistic...what if the hairs on the stem are red - brown and everything else is albinistic...what would you call that? If the hairs are albinistic and there is some color on the base of the leaves would you call it the same...

Flower Variation With a Complex Cross

are you keeping any of these? are any of them up to your standards to continue to use in your program? I think this is a reminder to those of us doing some hybridizing of just how difficult it is - how many you need to flower out to get a keeper...I like the 4th one... :)

ideas on pest & disease control in greenhouse

it is marketed for systemic control of insects on trees, which is why you would need 3 pounds of it...i shudder to think how long that would last in a hobby greenhouse situation...

ideas on pest & disease control in greenhouse

yeah but it's super low-dose, like 1/2 tsp per gallon sprayed as systemic...share it with someone else or contact a grower and see if you can get a small amount...you spent alot for the plants, right?

    Awards at L.A.D.O.S.

yes I saw the photo - I am totally unfamiliar with Keelat as well, but the Warrawong is very nicely colored. Did Joyce Spence make the cross of Magnetic North or was that someone else? It's a shame you can't get US material and vice versa...

    Awards at L.A.D.O.S.

a beautiful group, and apparently very high-percentage cross...i wonder who else has seedlings. i assumed since you registered the cross the parents were yours, and was interested in the Another Hunter because all those parents - Mildred Hunter, Thule, and Trinidad are pretty poorly shaped flowers.
