    A couple of triploid Fritz’s.

Nice blooms and very well grown, too!

    Don Wimber

Thanks. No. It's just slightly above the mix which is probably ok because I have a fair amount of rockwool cubes in the mix. The growth on the left would benefit from being a little deeper. That growth just got done blooming.

    Phrag seedlings in moss

Your plants look great! I used to love sphagnum for deflasking but had some bad luck with deflasking some paphs last year. When I had a greenhouse the sphagnum worked good and also in an apartment. I don't know if it is the lower temperature of the basement where I grow now. I know my moss...

Petals are thicker and a little darker than they appear. There is a lot of light coming from behind.

    Thrips?

Over the winter I had some issues with flask seedlings. The lower leaves were the first to have the issue and the undersides of them would have these black dots that seemed to be mostly embedded in the leaf tissue. I caught lots of thrips on sticky tape. Most of my flask seedlings are older...

    A tetraploid? Fritz.

Good healthy plant. Really nice color!

    Calcium & Magnesium

I use K-Lite and it works great for me. Looks like a good start on your orchids. You have nice foliage to look at when they aren't in bloom.

Phrag. Rosalie Dixler 'Fox Valley' AM/AOS

My Rosalie Dixler bloomed the end of May/early June but it was in the basement all winter so there's less of a clock than you get in a greenhouse.

    Waunakee Sunset 'Cherry'

That's what I was thinking. More on the pink side. I don't know if my growing conditions are keeping it from expressing as much red? I have two. One I bought from Chuck and one I bought on ebay.

    Waunakee Sunset 'Cherry'

That sounds like an interesting cross. Yours might carry some red from the sargentianum.

    Waunakee Sunset 'Cherry'

This bloom opened up a couple days ago. There is a new growth hidden by the yellow leaf.

    That is impressive!!

Paph Fanaticum... getting close but not fully open

I think the cool temperature in my basement slowed it down. Also it was the first bloom and a single growth plant. One cool thing about this plant is that I knew the owners of the pollen parent (malipoense) and saw the pollen parent in bloom around 1990. It was cool to come across this cross...

    Phragmipedium besseae flavum help please

Sorry Brucher T. I didn't see your post when I posted.

    Phragmipedium besseae flavum help please

I would try Southernbelle's recommendation. I have rehabbed phrags with that approach successfully when roots were an issue.

Paph Fanaticum... getting close but not fully open

First time blooming. The spike first started in November and it has been a slow process. I figure it should be fully open by Christmas. The plant is very small. It's sibling chose to grow a second growth instead of bloom. I like the size of the pouch and there is some nice veining if you...

    Phrag Cardinal

You can make that three. :)

    Phrag Cardinal

Thanks Tom. On the first bloom, I tried polinating it with my Rosalie Dixler but it didn't take. Maybe next year.
