    New Species

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that. The markings on the dorsal are very unique and interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if this species becomes popular, hopefully through propagation instead of poaching.

    Spots on phragmipedium leaves

I appreciate everyone's feedback. Sorry for the delay in replying. See some answers below. In most cases around a year. This particular plant has excellent roots. Possibly mechanical damage on that one particular leaf. Virus is always a possibility but not very common in phrags. I...

Normally I'm not a fan of this type of phrag but that one is very pretty!

Phrag. Don Wimber 'Barbara Ann' Am/Aos

This is a good performing Don Wimber clone that I bought from eBay over ten years ago. It originated from Whippoorwill Orchids in Arkansas I believe.

    Spots on phragmipedium leaves

Hi, Over the past year I've had a few phrags that get random spotting on leaves. See photo below. It looks like something bacterial or maybe some sort of insect biting. Has anyone seen anything similar or know how to resolve this? Thanks in advance for any information or advice!

I generally don't consider growing larger cattleyas because how much room they take but wow that is nice.

I really like that one a lot.

    Phrag. Cardinale 'Wilcox'

This is the always reliable Cardinale 'Wilcox'. It's a very robust grower that busted out of its pot this year. I don't ever remember another phrag doing that.

    Phrag. Ruby Cascade 'Max'

I didn't care for this one the first time it bloomed. It's a lot better the second time though as the division has grown quite a bit now. It's a fairly easy grower.

Phrag. China Dragon 'Joy Black' Am/Aos (Updated)

Pretty easy growing hybrid that can bloom several times per year. It recently opened a third flower so I replaced the original picture. e-spice

Stanhopea nigroviolacea ('Aztec Gold' x self)

Amazingly large flowers and amazing fragrance. This one was quite an experience. If you don't have a Stanhopea in your collection it's time to make room for one!
