    New Flasks

Hi Bob in Albany These are all Paph crosses... mini Paphs and some are crosses made with a parvy as one of the parents. I generally don’t sell my hybrids until I flower a couple and register the cross. So, it might be a little while. Anyone interested in flasks can private message me.

    C. walkeriana coerulea Season

Hi tomp Sorry for the delay... setting up a small farm, restoring a farmhouse that was built in 1900 and started new job. The greenhouse is covered with double poly. There’s an inflation kit that blows air between the two layers. Hello Ozpaph The walls are treated plywood. There would have been...

    C. walkeriana coerulea Season

Hi Djthomp28 I have about 130 walkeriana and yes this is a new growing space. I’ve moved from New Jersey to North Carolina and am growing in a Greenhouse now... big change from growing in the house under lights and watering 4000+/- plants at the sink one at a time.

I believe Harold made it... I'm pretty sure I got the two I have from him at the Paph Form.

    What does line-breeding actually mean?

Hello My Green Pets I love this subject but there is so much misinformation/misunderstanding surrounding it. There’s a saying, “Line breeding is whatever works and inbreeding is whatever doesn’t.” Although you’re asking about plants the same principles are more commonly applied to animal...

    C. walkeriana alba

Hi Paphman910 In the winter I grow my walkers under cheap two row LED shop lights from Walmart. 50000K... on at 10am and off at 11pm. In the summer I grow them outdoors under a couple layers of 50% white shade cloth.

    C. walkeriana alba

Hi Carmella.carey In the winter I water my walkers one at a time at the sink... every 4 days no fertilizer. In the summer I put them outside and water them with the garden hose. Hi Leslie Sorry for the incredibly long delay in responding. Good luck... I have no doubt you will be successful Hi...

    Paphiopedilum Jeweled Venus

I love the green color on this flower. I thought I was going to lose it last year when the one and only growth bloomed and then died. Much to my surprise two new growths started coming up... one on each side just as the old one dried up completely.

    Paphiopedilum Franz Glanz

I got this plant as a 2 fan blooming division from Clinton Lewis at Orchid Dynasty. I got it 6 years ago and after it finished blooming the old fan died back and that’s the way the plant stayed. This last year it grew bigger and started a new growth and now it’s flowering.

Next Paphiopedilum Munchkin Mopsi Aru to Bloom

This is the next Paphiopedilum Munchkin Mopsi Aru (Wei-Ling Ting x boxallii atratum) to bloom. Much nicer flower on a inflorescence 1/3rd the size. This is the flower of the first plant.

    Pollination

Both flowers today January 17th. So there you have it with this cross... the flowers are fading at 6 days. Now let’s see if the pods hold.

    Pollination

Hello greenjamman The length of time between pollination and the flower fading is variable in Paphiopedilum to say the least. Since 2015 I’ve made 142 crosses that failed to produce a pod and 225 crosses that produced a pod and made it to the lab. Of the ones in the lab many don’t germinate...

    C. Mini Purple 'Tamami'

    Paphiopedilum charlesworthii ‘Runyen’

This is a division of Paphiopedilum charlesworthii ‘Runyen’ I got from Orchid Dynasty in Salt Lake City, Utah about 6 or 7 years ago. The dorsal is flat but leans forward over the flower... at least that’s the case for me the two or three times I’ve bloomed it. I do like the color and pattern...

    Paphiopedilum Red Headed Stepchild

This is a very nice vinicolor Paph. I’ve been using this plant for breading for a number of years now. I had to register one of the grandparent crosses and then the parent cross before I could name this plant for my crosses.

Paphiopedilum Munchkin Tommy Kwikstep (Paph tonsum x Paph Sorcerers Love)

This is my first Paphiopedilum tonsum hybrid. It’s a pretty good size flower... 13cm x 13cm.

My Wife Calls this my ‘Man Cave’

Thanks everyone for all your kind and funny comments. Hello My Green Pets There is a heat vent in the garage and I leave the door into the house open... with the lights and fans running it stays in the 70’s even when it’s in the teens outside. Hey Ozpaph The humidity 40-60 average and 80 when...
