    Dendrobium amboinensis

Luckily I was able to get some pics this year. Noticed the buds two days ago and having to leave for an event this weekend, I was hoping that it would open before leaving this afternoon. Sure enough, it was open this AM! If you dont know about this species, the flower literally lasts for a...

    Unexpected CCE

I entered this plant at our local show to help a friend fill holes in his display. Didnt both checking the record to see if it would get any sort if award, its not a slipper so why bother ;-). LOL. Well one of the judges pulled it and it was judged. The rest is history. Almost every leaf...

    Paph micranthum ‘Reagan Lynn’

All BS and NBS Parvi’s go in a basket, either teak or large opening plastic. I use a coarse mix as well. Took me a while to find the best mix for my growing conditions but the plants do well and all the stoloniferous growths are “saved.” tyler

Paph micranthum var eburneum ‘Spring Kiss’ AM/AOS

Here is the second flower. Just a snap from my iphone rather than Ramon’s rig. Better shape, better dorsal, better symmetry. tyler

    Paph Oriental Spring ‘Grogu’

Clearly imperfect, thanks Tony. Fingers crossed that its better in 6 months when it blooms again.

Paph micranthum var eburneum ‘Spring Kiss’ AM/AOS

No, this is the awarded flower. The other is maybe half open at the moment.

Paph micranthum var eburneum ‘Spring Kiss’ AM/AOS

This was awarded today. One flower and one partially open bud. Unfortunately, the awarded flower was accidentally broken off when my friend put the plant into its travel box. It happens….the pollen was collected for future breeding and the other flower is actually looking better than the awarded...

    Paph Oriental Spring ‘Grogu’

This was exhibited today for judging but was screened. Big flower at 15.5 ns. Flat as a pancake. I didnt get the screen sheet but word is that they didnt like the petals and the synsepal is a little crooked. Oh well, cant win em all.

Paph micranthum forma ?? ‘Brenda June’

The reason I would like a forma or varietal name is purely for clarity and the expansion of scientific and taxonomic discovery. I would suggest that the three examples you provided are similar enough to be considered the same color sport as my plant. Hopefully there will be viable seed from...

Paph micranthum forma ?? ‘Brenda June’

That was the plan Leslie. Only issue is that I subscribe to the Terry Root philosophy and want to see everything in flower. “IF” true albas are thrown by selfing. They should be easy to spot out of bloom, its the “albescent” and regular eburneum that will be hard to determine out of bloom. Tyler

Paph micranthum forma ?? ‘Brenda June’

Leslie, The parentage is unknown. The tag from the dealer simply said “paph micranthum eburneum.” I purchased it four or five years ago out of bloom and this is his second flowering for me. I have to assume that the dealer picked out the variety because of its characteristic leaves.

Paph micranthum forma ?? ‘Brenda June’

I was debating taking this to my next judging session but decided to wait for a better bloom. It has bloomed better in the past and worthy of awarding. This bloom, not so much…maybe a JC but whatever LOL. Darn dorsal sepal! I asked Dr Braem what forma he would call this and he really didnt have...
