    Paph spicerianum

I will let him do it if he wants. I will put some pollen on my old (very old) clone and see what happens.

    Paph spicerianum

Not mine... I had to get back to my sales table and I thought someone was going to pull it for judging, but I guess I should have done it myself. Substantially bigger than most I've seen and has the most incredible substance I've ever touched. Almost feels like it is carved out of marble. I...

    Paph Chiara 'Littlefrog' AM/AOS

Lawrencianum x sukhakulii. Remake of an older cross that is showing up everywhere. I was a little surprised by this award. Feel like I should cross it to something but I'm not sure what.

    Paph Larry Sexton 'Littlefrog' AM/AOS

Just awarded yesterday. Two flowers and a bud. Kind of like Woluwense but easier to bloom. Plant is quite compact and in a 3.5" pot.

    Paphiopedilum glanduliferum at Show

My first thought was Roth hybrid... William ambler or Susan Booth. Or a backcross to Roth of one of those.

Paph. sanderianum x sib ('Dr. John Doherty' AM/AOS x 'Sam Tsui' AM/AOS)

Nice flower! I think I bloomed my first one just a few years ago and I felt like same way. Just made me happy, something I had been working on for what seems like decades. It will bloom better next year, although it is quite nice this year. Petal length is quite respectable. I have heard...

Should I repot before winter really kicks off?

I repot slippers almost all year. I try to avoid the hottest months. I also grow without any natural light at all, so my plants shouldn't know what time of year it is.

Paphiopedilum fairrieanum (‘Fairytale x ‘Gigantic Jr’)

Probably would get a mix of alba and flowers with color. A few might have full color.

    Paph Morganiae

I just found a division, send me message if you still want one. Rob

    Paph Morganiae

I have one. A favorite. Think I got it from Taylor Orchids when he closed up, however many years ago that was.

Phragmipedium schlimii; A new Look at an Old Species

I agree with most (maybe all) of that. Never seen much difference using 'manzurii' vs schlimii that can't just be accounted for by the color of the parent. I certainly can't remember all those new names. Fisheri does seem to breed differently than schlimii (with regard to color). But again...

    Wanted Phrag. longifoum album

I had several... one awarded one. Let me look when I get out to the barn tomorrow

Paph philippinense var palawanense frma album x self

OIR076 is the cross it says on your tag. To the best of my ability to read Sam's handwriting anyway. It isn't one of Sam's tags. Can't vouch for the chain of events that got it to you, may be the wrong tag in the pot ...

Paphiopedilum barbigerum var aureum 'Steal My Sunshine' HCC/AOS

I'd love to add pollen from your awarded clone to the pollen library... hoping the flasks from the latest generation turn out as well as yours have.

Paph. charlesworthii fma. alba x sib ('Gigantic' x 'First Class' AM/AOS)

I have several (of this grex and others). The Alba actually seems to grow better for me than the colored form. Or at least blooms better... For me, growing under lights, they bloom predominantly in the fall (about this time of year). I don't treat them in any special way. I don't get...

    Phrag. Fritz Schomburg

If you have a way to keep it cooler the color will probably be better. I just have to rely on dumb luck, I don't have a way to cool the barn.

    Yellowing/Dying Leaves on parvisepalums

If it is the lowest leaves only I wouldn't be too worried.

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

That is a harder question than it sounds... sequencing is easy (and cheap compared to when I was doing it), but it is a boundary problem. Still need to draw lines between species, and nature doesn't really do lines, it is always a bit (or a lot) blurry at the edges. DNA is great info, but it...

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

I'll take that correction. I haven't grown many adductum or anitum. But somebody needs to get those awards fixed...

    Paphiopedilum Yang-ji Hawk

I don't think you can... RHS is probably making a mistake in letting anitum be a separate entity from adductum. I'd still keep it as a variety. Also I guarantee no small amount of people claiming to use adductum and actually using adductum v. anitum. I'm a lumper, not a splitter, and...
