Again, this is the first to bloom. there will be more to follow. Butterscotch Leopard = (Hop Butterscotch 'Deerwood' HCC/AOS X Mary's Little Leopard 'Deerwood' AM/AOS).

This is the first to bloom. I got only about a half dozen viable plants from the cross. Tiny Linda = Little Linda X thaianum. Little Linda = Linda Sizer X Little by Little.

Nice color. It appears to have inherited the larger size of grandparent Paph Harbur. The Paph (Intensity x Tokyo Great Excellence) used was a diminutive plant from a standard complex cross and Little Cove is (Harbur x henryanum).

I bought this plant a couple years ago from Lehua. After spending a year adjusting to northern Minnesota, it bloomed. It received an 85 pt. AM at the Milwaukee Orchid Show last weekend.

I've registered one cross with Donna's Bird: Paph Natalie Goldston (Donna's Bird X Vercruysse). Two examples are posted below. They are not mini's, but definitely compact.

Thanks for the kind words! Your flower is quite nice for the cross. I did a few primary crosses in order to evaluate fowliei's dominant characteristics. (Personally, I like the tall stem.) Unfortunately like a lot of henryanum x barbata types, it is not an eager bloomer. One fowliei cross...

Interesting hybrid. Sometimes breeders make primary hybrids to get a feel for dominant and recessive characteristics for the species used.

I thin I think that rothschildianum crossed with hybrids from the Barbata group are a bit more successful than those from standard complex hybrids made predominantly from the Paphiopedilum subgenus which includes insigne, spicerianum, villosum, etc.

A few years back, I was looking at Grace Day (bellatulum X Cerritos) hybrids and came across Paph Heaven's Gate (Grace Day X rothschildianum). It was made by Orchids Royale and received 5 flower quality awards on three different plants. One cultivar, Mem. Louise Weltz, Grown by Bob Weltz...
