    Pet megathread?

Kyle, you're right about that. As much as I love it down there, thats one thing I totally disagree with. Most people (not all, by any means) buy a dog, tie it to a tree and there it stays for the rest of its life, and then it attacks someone and no one knows why. My mother-in-law never...

    Paph spicerianum

Dot, thats just because I didn't want to move it. Thats a Dendrochilum wenzellii...I think. Now if I were Eric, I'd have been taking a picture of the dendrochilum and gotten a perfectly in focus spice! :poke:

    Pet megathread?

Kyle, nice boxer! Here's a picture of mine. I bought him in Costa Rica, and even though I really didn't save him, I'd like to think I did from someone else buying him. They really don't treat most dogs very well in Costa Rica.

    Paph Dollcevita...

Jim, thats a nice one. It's probably from the same cross, all that I have seen being sold are from the same cross that I have. I'll look and see what the exact name is later on.

    Paph spicerianum

Here is a first bloom seedling of a plant a friend of mine gave me. It's got like 5 growths, one more mature one that I think might be in sheath right now and 3 immature. I LOVE this species! Enjoy!

    Paph Dollcevita...

I think thats how they are spelling it...it's wrong, it should only have one "L". This is a second bloom plant, I bought it in bloom last year from Venamy Orchids in Brewster, NY. It's growing in s/h under lights (compact fluoro's) It's a cross of St. Swithin x liemianum. It has 3 more buds...

    Cyp acaule painting

My cousin (actually my neighbor) is really into painting, so I asked him if he could paint an orchid for me if I gave him a picture and he said he would. This is the picture I gave him and this is the painting he did for me I think it came out AWESOME!! What does everyone else...

    Orchids in habitat

Yeah, they grow like crazy in Costa Rica too, I think they are self fertile and don't need a fungus for the seed to germinate. I worked at a hotel on the other side of Rincon De La Vieja national park (http://www.buenavistalodgecr.com/index.html) and I once saw maybe 200 seedlings growing in a...

    malipoense var hiepii stuck ?

Sangii, it looks like there are some extra flower parts there...maybe that is the problem. :edit: It must be my eyes, I looked again and there are no extra parts. When the sepal flipped up it looked like there was another synsepal above the sepal.

I'm an evil murderess...and I feel very badly

Oh man, you guys are too nice, when I was younger I worked at a garden center and me and a few of my friends used to go and pick up the pumpkins in the fields when they were ready. The guys picking them used to leave them in big piles and the best part was getting to the end of the pile and...
