Unusual new Selenipedium or new genus?a

Yes, compared to other species, it's certainly not the most eye-catching one, but it is still quite fascinating from a botanical standpoint. It reminds me of Phragmipedium lindenii, although lindenii has a mico-slipper instead of an elongated petal.

Unusual new Selenipedium or new genus?a

Browsing the web, I found this exciting set of publications from 2014 and 2015, respectively. One describes the new specie Selenipedium chironianum, a slipperless orchid specie from Guyana. Then the following publication proposes to move the specie into a new genus, Apedium, within the subfamily...

Any good recent treatments of the Genus Cypripedium?

Sorry for the long wait. Here I attach the pages depicting the mysterious Cypripedium taibaiense. In this book Cypripedium singchii and subtropicum are treated as separate species, I do not believe that they are distinct though.

Time for suspicious eBay Cypripedium and Paphiopedilum listings!

As the winter months approach, eBay starts to fill up with suspicious Cypripedium listings from accounts that are only a few months old listing novelty species. I want to point out that I did not buy from this seller. Therefore I do not know if the other listings on his profile are legit. The...

Any good recent treatments of the Genus Cypripedium?

Sorry I completely removed the idea of attaching the pictures when posting. Due to a recent loss, I find myself away from home. I'll be able to post some scans of the books as soon as I get back home! You can check out the aforementioned publication from the following link.

Any good recent treatments of the Genus Cypripedium?

I have seen only the 2003 Book by Cribb Hardy Cypripedium. However, some species seem to be missing. A recent phylogenetic study seems to have shed some light on the genus. However, one of the most important species C. debile, was missing from the material. (The paper is Molecular phylogeny of...

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

I've checked those out, and yes, you can get them here in the EU. Because of the weed industry, every large grow light is overpriced, I found a couple on Amazon, and I think I'll get one for my Sobralias. However, they are too big for the shelving I can fit in my grow area, still thank you for...

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

Amazing results indeed! Unfortunately being in Europe and in a country with up to 30% import taxes buying from the US gets way too expensive for me, that's why I was looking to build them myself, I usually work with microcontrollers and some high-power projects so the electronic side wouldn't be...

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

Ok I'll check with the manufacturer then! Between the two which one you think makes more sense with Paphs and Phrags?

    Help with choosing artificial lighting

Hello everyone! I am in the process of creating a small shelf to house my Paphs and Phrags. However, I'm not sure if the lights that I have available are any good for them. I have settled for one of two models of LED lights. They are regular LED panels used for general-purpose lighting. The...
