    Dorchid’s Flasks

Would you be willing to elaborate on what the conditions were? Were they also different crosses?

A few recent (and not so recent) flowers from my collection

Welcome from just south of the border. I had no idea primulinum was fragrant. How nice to have so many in bloom.

first ever flask, Paphiopedilum fairrieanum question

Yes, you are right. Ray does say that. Thanks for the encouraging words. I am going to try and be patient and see what happens when growth should pick up again in the spring.

plant import permits freak me out

I, too, am waiting for a shipment from Koopman, after working up the courage to apply for permits. Thanks for posting this. I probably would have refused to give my ssn and not gotten my plants.

first ever flask, Paphiopedilum fairrieanum question

Your post continues all the good information on this thread. Thanks for the vocabulary lesson-etiolate. 😂 Hopefully you will someday get to name a clone after your Aunt Judy. When did you put the one seedling in lecca and how did it react? Was it also in the spring? I am growing my whole...

    Paphiopedilum Wossner Helene

I don't know the first thing about shows or why you grow. But....beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And if a plant can bring you pleasure, for whatever reason, I would hang on to that little bit of happiness. I hope I am not speaking out of line. That sounds very intriguing. If you have...

    Paphiopedilum fairrieanum

Thanks for the pictures of the staminode. They are great pictures and beautifully? insectoid. Do all Fairrieanums have such distinct markings on the staminode?

first ever flask, Paphiopedilum fairrieanum question

Congratulations. Look at those beautiful roots! Can't wait to see the bloom. I read this post several months back. Just got my first flasks a few weeks ago. Wish I had remembered all the good info in this thread. Glad it resurfaced with your photos. Keep me in mind as well if you decide...

Thanks for the info. I will contact them directly and see if I can get on the list for the spring and see what might still be available for this fall.

Great photo. I love the little mustache over the staminode.

    Wanted Wanted Phrags.

Apologies for hijacking this thread. I keep seeing Woodstream referenced. And in fact they are listed as vendors at this Paph Forum. But the link on the Forum page goes to a website from 2020. Does anyone know if they deal with the general public or if it is more limited? I don't want to be...

    Bc Little Birds

I like the contrast between the pale yellow "lip" (is it a lip on Cattleya's?-I don't know my anatomy) and gold petals. And the spots really add a pop. Adorable.

    Lazy Update

The Cat is beautiful. It could persuade me to break my Paph only rule.

    Light level for flasks

I have all kinds of ideas. Again, I just really appreciate all the knowledge and support on this forum. I think it is too late to worry about adjusting humidity on my first flasks. Two of them seemed to transition well. One of them didn't seem happy when it arrived and has not gotten more so...

    Light level for flasks

Hummm, I think I definitely need to make some changes. Thank you for all the advice. I know, when I look at the tiny Prince Edward of York sitting on my windowsill, I wonder if I will ever get to see it bloom. Still, I want to figure out how to make them happy at all stages of their lives...
