I was going through one of my books, The Genus Paphiopedilum, and came across the picture of a venustum in the wild. I’ve never seen a venustum like this before... it’s a color form with almost no purple coloring on the under sides of the leaves, just a few spots at the base... but what’s more...

Every single one of my paphs grow in a west window, where they receive direct, hot, afternoon sunlight for about 3 hrs a day. And when I say hot, my summer temps average 95-110 degrees.

That’s funny you guys mention those little curls! This is the first time that the bloom has those. Never seen them before either, but I think they are kind of cool. No idea why or how or what they are???

Yes for the most part. I pot them in one size larger than the root ball. Meaning, enough room for a year or two of root growth.

I’ve actually have wanted to try that, but the jugged distilled water gets too cold in the winter. Only way to use it purely, would be to microwave the distilled water. Lol

I’m a very curious person as well. I love to learn new ways of growing and trying new things. As far as the tap water, I’d say with it mixed in in the winter, I’d say it only makes up about 15% of the yearly total water, so I don’t think that would make a big difference? I’m not too sure tho...
