    Pure venustum ‘fox catcher’ FCC/AOS

No problem at all!! And no, I do not know. I don’t take it that serious. I just water, with mostly distilled water, and mix in the tap when it’s cold. I try not to take growing Orchid’s as serious as others. I water, give decent light, ceiling fan for air circulation, and experiment with mixes...

    Pure venustum ‘fox catcher’ FCC/AOS

Another thing... all I use in ways of food or fertilizers, is Green Jungle, from Orchid Web, and I only use it in the spring and summer. I give them nothing in the fall and winter.

Reverse osmosis? I use distilled water in the warmer months that I pick up from Walgreens, and in the colder months, I’ll use some hot tap water to mix with the now cold jugs of distilled water.

My absolute favorite! If not obvious.. haha

    venustum ‘master’ HCC/AOS x self

I don’t literally keep them “wet” sitting in water, but as soon as the wet appearance of the roots and substrate, goes to moist, I water again. Year round. In my early times with venustum’s, I would always get spikes drying up and dying with the “rest”. I water them liberally all year round now...

    venustum ‘master’ HCC/AOS x self

This is one of the best venustum’s I have. Yet another example of the results I get from keeping my venustum’s almost wet. Can’t see in the photos, but there is a 3rd fan in the back that is also starting to spike.

venustum ‘Bhulanensis’ x (venustum pardinum x venustum pynuralianum)

Lol the key to a happy and flourishing venustum, is wet feet and a good smoking briar!

    Hoya ds-70

You know?, I’m not sure of that. I’ll have to pay attention to that when they go back outside this spring.

    Hoya lacunosa

Don’t quote me on this, but I do believe all species of Hoya are fragrant. This lacunosa’s sweet jasmine smell completely engulfs the room. I keep my hoyas inside until the evening lows get up to 50 degrees, then they stay outside until the following winter. They absolutely love the heat of the...

    Pure venustum ‘fox catcher’ FCC/AOS

Update!! I emailed photos of the venustum ‘fox catcher’ FCC/AOS x self, and the venustum ‘pink wings’ x ‘flat wings’ to Sam from Orchid Inn, and he asked to use the photos on his web page!!! I said of course!!! I thought that was pretty cool!!

    Hoya ds-70

My favorite Hoya. It smells of strong, rich, sweet butterscotch. By the way, all that growth is one spring/summer outside!! I cut off all the old growth. 14”-20” vines in a matter of 6 months outside in the valley heat!! Insane grower!!

    Hoya lacunosa

This thing blooms all year round!!! I lost count after counting 46 peduncles!!! This thing is insane and smells so damn good!! A strong sweet jasmine smell.

    Pure venustum ‘fox catcher’ FCC/AOS

It is indeed an amazing specimen. The bloom has been open for 32 days now and is still just as stunning and the petals are still just as flat.
