    RIP Stephen Hawking

As this thread is meant to honour Stephen Hawking, I won't say what I really wished to say, but I agree. (Don't know whom to credit this photograph.) Perhaps happiness makes the difference between people, if they have been loved and could give love.

    RIP Stephen Hawking

The Gay World too shows gratitude to this man, who used his influence as renown scientist as well as his popularity to revert a tragic injustice, helping not only Alan Turing to a posthumous pardon, but all other men in similar situation in the UK. Most countries of the world still fail to...

    RIP Stephen Hawking

See what is meant by 'the ugly German' now? Humiliating and having the last word, as usual.

    Dendrobium ...

Dendrobium speciosum flowering now Big surprise this morning: first spike ever of a Dendrobium speciosum, bought two years ago and still small. I hope it really is this one, as I've got a few orchids that resulted in other species when they had their first flower.

    Dietes

Has been flowering for months now with short lived, single flowers on long spikes, successively producing new buds: Dietes iridioides. Something like a South African walking iris, which is preparing flowering right now. As it is not a commonly known plant I wanted to share with you.

    Phalaenopsis Casandra

Thank you! I have a Phal Baguio which behaves the same way. No flowers up to now but a very nice plant. Lots of water = lots of leaves; less water = less leaves, but never ever a spike.

    Phalaenopsis Casandra

Lovely. Thanks for sharing! Are the flowers true in colour like we see them, or is the photograph rather bright?

The year of the Roth, fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed. (I want one so badly, and now with the new import laws, there is no way how.)
