Paph Avenue Azhar x Satchels Legend bud watch

Current progress. I saw a time lapse on YouTube of a paph flower opening over two weeks. Takes more time than I thought!

Fun question for all orchid collectors: so pretty much everyone here ;)

    1. With flowers, I'd have to say my plain base-model neofinetia. It's on the second bloom spike this year. And I've had this one for a while, so I can take credit for the flowers. I've had a couple orchids have some really nice root growth too 2. It's me. I'm the problem. I'm not the best at...

Paph Avenue Azhar x Satchels Legend bud watch

I bought this in spike, this is my first paph in spike ever. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to when this will actually open?

    Leptotes bicolor

It's not overly fancy, and I don't have mine mounted because that was a disaster, but this is the second time I've gotten this one to bloom for me

    Josianae versus Longipetalum

Sun Wings! It's very nice. I think the horizontal petals are just the right width for a skinnier petal.

Paph Harold Koopowitz for indoor growing

I don't think Oklahoma really does a lot of houses with basements, and certainly mine doesn't have one. But thank you for the information!

Paph Harold Koopowitz for indoor growing

I wish I could be sure the one I would get would be an easier bloomer, but it's a bit risky sounds like! And I only have so much space, I'd hate to use some of it for a plant I might never bloom.

Paph Harold Koopowitz for indoor growing

Oh, well that is definitely good to know! Perhaps I'll reconsider then. I love how the flower looks, and the possibility of fragrance, but if I never get it to flower then both of those qualities are pointless.

Paph Harold Koopowitz for indoor growing

Hello all. I'm considering buying a paph Harold Koopowitz, and I've checked out some threads on them here. I'm wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if it's possible to grow indoors only and be able to flower it? I grow all my other plants under supplemental light, so light is not an...

Paph. (Alchemy ‘Titanic’ x Sorcerer’s Stone ‘Enchanted Orb’

I think it's pretty impressive! At least it looks really nice to me. But I'm not an orchid judge, I just know what I like.

Tiny black spots on malipoense leaf

I ordered this from Orchid Dynasty. I think I got the last malipoense in stock though, sorry!

Tiny black spots on malipoense leaf

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. I didn't think it was overly concerning considering the apparent health of the rest of the plant and the fact this came from what I believe is a good vendor, but as these are my first I thought I'd check to make sure.

Tiny black spots on malipoense leaf

I just got two paphs in the mail today. Please know I'm brand new to this species. There are little black spots on this leaf and only this leaf. Is this something I need to be concerned about, or is it something that can happen normally?

    Hello from Oklahoma

I've thought about that, but heard varying opinions on it. I've also tried some hoya in leca before, and it didn't go well. The top 3/4 of the leca stayed dry, so those roots were dying at the top. It was probably some error on my part, but I don't want to lose any orchids by experimenting with...
