    Paph anitum culture

Thanks Ray. 1 PPM indeed. But not all can will do this. So perhaps giving the PPM value would be easier to follow.

    Paph anitum culture

I think that's Boric Acid and the 5 in Mn5O4 is Sulfate. If this is per liter, so 3mg of MN SO4, H2O per liter, how much ppm of MN is this? It can probably be easily followed by many if these are in percent form, like what we see in fertilizer labels.

    Pale yellowish leaves - why????

For me, pH is the main factor. When pH is not matched with the plant, plants have a hard time taking these ionic form of nutrients. It's almost like swimming against the tide. This is a common knowledge not theory but a fact. Orchids are plants. There are ratios also of cations and anions that...

    Pale yellowish leaves - why????

Let me join the chorus lol. I will not take sides, lol. I think what you guys are saying have their own merits. ALL cultural variables are necessary and we all know that. Information on cultural requirements like light, temperature, air, water and humidity are readily available and can be...

    Pale yellowish leaves - why????

Well at least more on ammonium. I can't see how you can have that mix in pure nitrate. For me the plant does not know what form of N we are feeding. They all can be absorbed. It is the effect on the pH around the roots that makes the difference. Like what you said, maintain the pH...as simple as...

    adductum

I know a few peps. I have one myself. After it bloomed it started to decline but I was able to save it. I have 6 plants in the Phils, still confused why they grow easily there even in coconut husk. Will be studying more on this once my greenhouse there is set up.

There is a whiff of mint like smell, very subtle. I caught it just before I took the picture. I grow this on the delanatii side, lower pH. It responded positively.

Given to me to revive about six years ago. This is an old cross from Hanes Orchids of Distinction. It flowered once on me but the stem broke so I did not get to see how it looks until now. It's trying to have three but I dont think the third will make it. It has a small deformation on the left...

Paph. philippinese var. laevigatum “red ruby” x self (Not an ordinary laevigatum)

Thanks. I expected it must be from Taiwan. I will be going there anytime soon. Any particular nursery I can find these seedlings. I just need the variety of forms in my collection. They may not be special like yours but it sure will look different from the origin which is what I will try to...

    Pair of Paph Philippinense

Or could it be that it depends on how the plant is grown, culture wise. Or where they grow in nature. Here is a picture of collected plants from one location. A lot of them looks stiff, erect and hard. But they look typical phili to me This bunch came from Cebu and Cebu is more of a lowland, dry...

Wow, that contrast of color is outstanding. Overall, it is special. So this is a self of Red Ruby? I would like to know where I can get its siblings for my Phil project.
