Don't judge a book by its cover!

Hey guys, So I got a Phrag. wallisii about a week ago from an online seller which looked great when it arrived, no signs of disease, two new growths, spike developing and it looked to be recently repotted. I normally repot all new arrivals but I figured since it was in spike and it looked to be...

    Deflasking Paph rothschildianum

Paph Woluwense fat leaves in bud !

I've never had success with the multi x parvi hybrids either, they grow and look healthy but never bloom. It's really frustrating because the flowers are absolutely stunning. Great looking Woluwense, plants like this really tempt me into trying them again.

Paphs delenatii dunkel & Ho Chi Minh

The HCM is very nice, I love the pink blush around the outside edges of the petals! Also, just curious, how big is your dunkel? I have one in spike at the moment.

    My ever growing collection

The petals got that 'twist' during transit, I'll ask the seller if I can use his flower pics to show how they look freshly opened. Oh and this is not from OZ, those plants quickly exceeded my budget but they were absolutely gorgeous.

    My ever growing collection

Alright, so here's the plant I've been most excited about getting. I saw this one on eBay and just had to have it. Paph. rothschildianum (with stonei as a very close second) is probably my favorite Paph species so I've have been looking for a good quality one since I got back into the hobby a...

    My ever growing collection

New plants!! These plants are from the seller pupsi_dog on eBay aka Lucky Girl Orchids who I've ordered from in the past and I highly recommend. The plants were packed very nicely and look great, needless to say I'm happy with my purchase! First, is a Paph. stonei that originated from SVO...

    My ever growing collection

Paph. Bel Royal 'Chris Swanson' HCC/AOS Here's some crappy phone pics of an awesome hybrid I got off eBay. The plant itself, unfortunately, is in pretty rough shape and is in need of a repot but I figured I'd enjoy the flowers before I repot it. Anyways, here are some pics!

    My ever growing collection

@Heather: I was really shocked I won that auction, I can't wait to get it! @orchidman77: Yep, Piping Rock and Orchid Inn are both great vendors, really great plants. The kovachii was pretty darn expensive, I got a small seedling (6-7" leafspan) which was still $$$. I have some eBay winnings...

    My ever growing collection

Hello! Figured I'd start a thread where I can post updates about my small but growing collection. I grow all my plants under 4' T8 fluorescent fixtures, 4 bulbs per shelf about 7" away from the plants and so far it's working great. The shelf I grow on is enclosed in opaque drop cloth plastic on...

    Paph. sanderianum flask

    Awesome!

    Amorphophallus konjac in bloom

@Linus_Cello: To be completely honest, nothing. I grow it outside all summer then when the leaf fades (usually late summer) I bring it inside and put it in the basement. I don't water until I see the start of the inflorescence break the surface, usually in February or March, and it is brought...

    Amorphophallus konjac in bloom

Hey guys! Just wanted to share this since it finally opened after slowly growing for about a month. The inflorescence was 26" tall when fully open, beating last years flower by almost 2 inches. Though amazing, I definitely don't recommend this plant for anyone with a weak stomach because it...

    Fertilizer question

Well, it ended up that the maxsea must have not been sealed properly and it was just a solid brick in the container, so I just pitched it. Thanks anyways guys!

    Haul from Orchid Inn

Nice! I just got an order from there too, really nice quality plants! Good luck with the sanderianum flask, Ive been trying to find that species for a while now but the cheapest I've seen plants is like $275!

    Fertilizer question

I don't see why that would get you hate mail, it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the help!
