It will be compared to all else on record, but also may depend on whose doing the judging as taste and experience differ, if reaching final scoring. They look for form, well held flowers, more the better, spaced nicely along inflorescence (not crowded but not far gaps either) size, clear sharp...

Mine is a division but really slow in summertime , now that it is cooler there is some more movement, i also added a tiny bit of live sphagnum to the base and roots are starting to kick in overdrive

Where in Canada are you? BC has forestview, Tropical Gardens and paramount, Ontario has Cloud's and Orchids Canada. Those are a few off the top of my head. There's also vendors that come to shows if you're a member you can get on the a preorder list to get the catalogue of items available...

Further on scent, it is highly dependant on the observer some noses are not able to pick up certain scents unless it is a strong odor. I was trying to point out scented blooms to a fellow enthusiast he couldn't pick up subtle scents on most orchids.

If you think that's pretty good, my municipal water is 6.9 PH and 18 TDS.

In some miltoniopsis crosses, it definitely makes a difference which is the pod vs. pollen parent, a breeder I know showed me the difference on his cross pollinated batch, one pod gave larger flowers consistently, the other pod consistently smaller ones, (same parents) genetics is a funny thing.

Fresh not aged or composted (and not mixed with urine). It contains lots microbial activity, i had one Cymbidium that ran out of the manure in its pot, and so, it grew so many roots searching for more it pushed itself 2 inches right out/above the pot it was sitting in a span of about 3 weeks.

I have amazing growth on Cymbidiums using fresh horse manure as potting media. Both regular and asian ones. Testing it on Phaius and Cyanosure at the moment too. Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
