I’m growing it in my basement under lights, with some other Paphs and Phrags. If it can help, it’s beside two kovachii in spike. So, in theory, if you can bloom a kovachii you can bloom Cooksonii 🤷🏻♂️
It has multiple growths but it’s not a really big plant. Here’s a picture with a kovachii to give you an idea. Sorry for the light. The sun is lower and makes a lot of odd shades 🙄😅
An oldie but a goodie :) Not the best, but it was my first kovachii and holds a sentimental value. Been growing this thing for a decade. Looking at it always makes me nostalgic. :)
Well, if I’ve known that this hybrid (Grouville x kovachii) would bloom on such a small plant, I would have taken it out of it’s community pot.. oopsie 😂
i was just wondering if flowers on a first bloom of Woluwense ( or either of it’s parents) didn’t open completely or it just take a long time to open up completely? I just don’t want to get my hopes up and obsess too much 😂
(Hanne Popow x kovachii)
Bought a flask of this cross from Ecuagenera about 5 or 6years ago. Not It’s first blooming but one of the best of the batch. Grown in sphagnum moss and coarse perlite.
Not sure what is the difference between those two crosses. I know hybrids with kovachii tend to have a similar flower. But that’s ridiculous! Anyway, La Vingtaine on the left and Glen Decker on the right :)
some Paphiopedilum that bloomed during the year.
Paph micranthum
Paph. Liberty Taiwan
Paph. Lola Bird
Paph emersonii
Paph. Ho Chi Minh
Paph. Latoya
Paph. Armeni White
Paph. S.Gratrix
Thanks Troy. Maintaining Phrags in the long run needs a lot of discipline and dedication :)
the colour on the Emma Decker is something else. The shape could be better, though.
I love it too. a nice compact grower. Phrag. Alien Syndrome( klotzscheanum x humboldtii) x wallisii
the cross was made by Robert-Jan Quene when he was working at Orchids Limited.
The name comes from the Moody Blues song : Nights in White satin
...yeah.. I’m old enough ;)
