    I recently got a new Gateway laptop with Vista and all the other bells and whistles you could want from BestBuy for $700. Everything runs great on Vista so far and I'm using Premium Home Edition. I'd also get an external hard drive. I got a 100 gig one not too long ago to back up my old laptop...
