i sprinkle in deer scram granules (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00169FKLI) around the base of the hostas to deter deer. full disclosure: it's blood/cinnamon based with deer bits in it.
we also have a bunch of battery motion activated lights...
I use floor-dry (granulated kiln dried DE) in the garden to keep the slugs from decimating my hostas and food grade DE in the chicken supplies. is the horticultural grade marketed as the pest control stuff? wondering how food grade stuff holds up compared to horticultural grade. 🤔
hi! yes. it's a special dry pump. this listing best illustrates the dry pump parts my little bottle has: https://www.amazon.com/CCbeauty-Dismountable-Cosmetics-Bottles-Locking/dp/B07ZRNSNMN/
i upcycled a dry shampoo dispenser and refilled with diatomaceous earth. my latest tool to defend against potential thrips, mites and mealies! surprised DE isn’t recommended more often. i stole the DE from my chicken keeping supplies. helps keep the coop and nests free and clear of mites so...
I was hoping someone could explain the if/when/how. For example, Hillsview has a couple brachy/parvi hybrids using album brachys and they explicitly say "we do not expect album for this cross". Whereas, QF recently cranked out a Wossner China Moon x delenatii album cross and from the pics I...
wow i was expecting you to say all those beautiful blooms came from a extra large plant in at least a 6” pot. thank you for the cultural info. i grow indoors, under LEDs so will have to switch it up to windowsill so the plant can get some sunshine once it reaches bloom size.
All different parents. 1) Exotic Plant Co, 2) Springwater Orchids, 3) Deerwood Orchids. I have 3 more helenae that didn't go into bud this year that I hope to be able to compare next round of blooms. 😊 🤞
The last of the helenae buds just opened and it's a super cutie! Small in stature, big on color. This gem is from Deerwood. I suspect the green will mellow out after a couple days. 🥳💎✨
