also worth noting the bellatum var album was sourced from exotic plant company arrived with succulent leaves and a healthy root system.

being that bellatulums weren't cheap i overly stressed over them. i repotted frequently, watered frequently, examined the plant frequently for fungus and bugs. i had a few die on me and always noticed the leaves on the dying bellatulums were less succulent than my other brachys. flimsy leaves...

i fell in love with bellatulums when i first started this hobby. i killed 2 or 3 bellatulums before i got one to bloom size. this is going to sound awful but the more i neglected them the better off they were and out of no where i got a few to bloom. 😂

did you try reaching out? it never hurts to ask. vendors don't always post everything they have in stock.

we leave our windows and doors open in the spring/summer. screens don't seem to do much keeping the gnats out. the bugs are attracted to the orchid light fixtures and i have to put little sticky traps up so they don't swarm the lights. today i got my hair caught the sticky traps. let me tell you...

here's a close up as requested. of course the staminode just so happens to be a little wonky. i've had quite a few plants that have been just a little bit off. twists and wrinkles in the leaves, misshapen this or that. how does this happen? bad genetics or bad grower? 😬
