    Paph. delenatii question

I have had great success with delenatii. I always think to myself why can't other parvi species behave like delenatii?!! fast to clump and easy to flower. To answer your very first question, the ones I grew all started new growths either while in bloom or shortly after the flower faded. I grew...

Good Year for Micranthum & Armeniacum, Finally Paphiopedilum armeniacum in bud

I think it's mostly just armeniacum and micranthum that produce runners actively. I have had malipoense that had a runner, but I doubt that's the main way they grow. I had a few LK and none of mine ever had runners. Nearly all the Fanaticum I had grew runners. How to best accomodate plants...

A Couple of parvis in Bloom & Bud

HCM for sure, but not vietnamense. At least I have only heard 3-4 weeks as their average flower life span. My biggest concern for vietnamense has always been the droopy petals. So I am pleasantly surprised by my very first vietnamense flower.

    Cymbidium canaliculatum var. sparkesii

Very nice!! If I ever end up living in warm dry climate like Spain, I'd love to try this one again. One needs to be very careful around this plant. I once almost lost my eyes to the leaves and I'm not kidding! lol

A Couple of parvis in Bloom & Bud

Isn't it Ho Chi Minh that's known for very short-lived flower life span? Btw, it is about to drop off as of today. The photo is already a few days old. Golden Palace is still going strong. I'm quite happy with the size and the shape on both. Golden Palace opened up completely flat and light...

    Catasetums & Cycnoches 2024

Initial uploads were all small and I tried to redo everything but it failed for some reason. Here I am, three huge inserts and three tiny photos. My old phone gave me such a hard time doing this. I'm not going to redo it, again. Sorry, guys! So the names starting with the very top on in the...

A Couple of parvis in Bloom & Bud

A first time blooming vietnamense & Golden Palace (Mem. Larry Heuer x armeniacum) on their 4th week in bloom & armeniacum in double buds!! The photos of armeniacum is taken in two weeks intervals with the second one being already one week old. The spikes are much longer & the buds larger. I’m...

Guaranthe (syn. Cattleya) skinneri fm semialba ‘Judy Bach’ AM/AOS

Or it just isn't a stable true semi-alba. The blushing could be random with or without environmental cues affecting it. I don't see how Kelp has anything to do with flower colors? Or it has mutated to this color. Based on the plant size, I assume that this is your very first time blooming this...

    Catasetum pileatum 'Oro Verde'

Thank you! I bought Mormodes rolfeana (yellow flower form) from a Peruflora at Dresden Show last month. Bare root leafless plant but looks like it is starting a spike. Has your Catasetum pileatum ever made female flowers for you? Do you have it under artificial light?
