    Pair of Paph Philippinense

The leaf of compactum is similarly like standard philippinense, broader and softer, but smaller in size. While the leaf of roebelinii is narrow, hard and thick. Attached picture is a comparison between both varieties. I took this picture two months ago. In the picture, the right side two plants...

    Pair of Paph Philippinense

I personally believed, it is more trust-able that to separate the difference of varieties of philippinense by form and texture of leaf, than by the form of the flower. I had been growing several tens of standard philippinense wild collections 30 years before. Their form of flowers were variable...

    Pair of Paph Philippinense

Beautiful curving petal! I like it much! According to the shape of broader, and soft leaves, I think the colored one is a standard philippinense, not a roebelini.

    Paph. Yellow Tiger

I have a question. The name "platyphyllum" was being accepted in 2001. But the name "Yellow Tiger " was registered in 1984. Why in RHS Orchid Register said, it is platyphyllum x glanduliferum? I feel confused. The clone I posted here which was imported into Taiwan before 2000, early than...

    My Polyanthas in 2022

From the color pattern of dorsal, petal and pouch, and the form of petal, think it has philippinense inside. Not supardii itself, or David Ott. But I cannot sure if it is supardii x philippinense straightly. Maybe other species inside too. Mislabeled is always a trouble thing!

    Paphiopedilum philippinense var. roebelinii

In your attached picture, already stated, roebelinii is smaller than philippinense, in all aspects. In fact, the leaves length of roebelinii can be as longer as philippinense, when it is well grown, just thiner in leaves broader. The most easy of separating point is substance. roebelinii is...

    Paphiopedilum philippinense var. roebelinii

The right side two, smaller and thinner leaves, are roebelinii. Both are wild collections. The left side two, larger and broader leaves, are normal philippinense. Both are seedlings.

    Paph. Lebeau

Lebeau = Transvaal x rothschildianum. I like the red pouch and wide dorsal, about 6.5cm. Originally it was come from Japan more than 20 years ago. I think this one is Vanguard's Lebeau. In the past, I think vanguard, Transvaal and Transdool were mixed. Because their Cochlopetalum mothers were...

    Paphiopedilum philippinense var. roebelinii

According to the picture, from the shape of the plant and the leaves, I think it is a normal philippinense, not var. roebelinii. I have a few wild clone of roebelinii. The leaves of roebelinii is more thin in width and harder in substance. The picture is a comparison of plant shape between both...
