    Phrag. longifolium v. album

Try giving them more light. They can take a lot more than you'd think.

    Three Phrags

Very nice! Is your longifolium alba a division of the original plant?

    Phrag. longifolium v. album

Same as mine. I agree. I emailed him to ask if it was a division on the original clone or a selfing grown from seed. It's been over a week, but I still haven't heard from him.

    Phrags in situ

I recently stumbled across this Ecuagenera video on the Phrags of Ecuador. I learned a few things, so I'm sharing it:

    Phrag. longifolium v. album

I bought a division of this plant a couple of years ago from John. It's blooming now, but I couldn't possibly come up with better pictures, so I'll just bump his thread. I was reluctant to spend so much on a single plant, given my limited experience with this particular group of Phrags, but I'm...

    Dendrobium cuthbersonii Season!!

I've never had a cuthbertsonii pod that didn't produce viable seed. If you have a pod you should be good to go. It will split after 8 or 9 months, but you can sow it green pod after 7 months.

    Cyp. guttatum

If it's keeping you awake at night you could ask him. He's a nice guy. I got it from Shawn Hillis at Garden Slippers : Garden Slippers - Exotic and rare cold growing perennial orchids, Shawn Hillis, Calgary, Alberta, Canada . He lists his stock as coming from Frosch and Hardy Orchids.

    Cyp. guttatum

I'm not sure, but I think it's unlikely that it's from China. I bought it a Canadian vendor.

It's waving to us. I love it!

    Spectacular!

    Phal parishii peloric

So far no luck with selfing it. I tried crossing it back to the normal form as well, but it's too early to tell if it's taken or not.

    Cyp. guttatum

I'm in Ottawa, Canada. We get temperatures in the high 30's Celsius in the summer.

    Phal parishii peloric

This is the only plant that I have from an outcross that I made with normal parents. It was a pleasant surprise.

    Cyp. guttatum

It survived the hot summer here last year! Two of it's three growths turned black last year but they are all back stronger this year. It didn't flower last year.

    2 Soph wittigianas

I've never seen one that pale either. If you self it I will gladly buy the seed from you.

Den. cuthbertsonii rojo xanthinum x Den. glomeratum

Looks good. This cross has been registered as by Mountain Orchids as Mtn's Butterfly Kisses.

    Calypso bulbosa in the wild

Yes, I've had the same experience taking pictures of Cyps in a bog in Manitoba. Many of the pictures had camouflaged spiders or caterpillars on the flowers that I didn't notice until I projected the slides. I saw Cyp arietinum and Arethusa bulbosa on that trip.
